Padstow · 住宿加早餐里的独立房间 · 1室1床1.5卫 · 可住2人 · A Room with a View (and a half!)
The Harbour Suite encompasses the top floor of our house, which is on South Quay in Padstow. It is an eaved room with an enormous bed, a separate bathroom with bath and shower, and a small balcony overlooking the harbour, the estuary, the beaches and the golf course at Rock (St Enodoc). Please note that we do not accept dogs in this room, because so many people nowadays have allergies. We do not accept children, either! We have been running a bed and breakfast here on South Quay for thirty years or more and people come back year after year - many of them dining at Rick Stein's. The view is one of the best in Padstow, and the balcony an ideal place to sit with a glass of something cool. There are tea and coffee-making facilities, a Smart TV with Netflix etc., hairdryer, free WiFi and a small fridge. The bed is huge, and the mattress is a new Hypnos, firm. There are both hollowfill and down and feather pillows, and if you let me know beforehand I will change the down and feather duvet for a hollowfill one. F.Y.I. Although some businesses in Cornwall have doubled or trebled their rates this year, we have not raised our prices for several years.
We very much enjoyed our stay with Jane & Peter. Their home based B&B is in an excellent location and the room with a view is very comfortable. King sized bed and lovely hot shower. Jane provided a good breakfast with a great choice and Peter gave us some great tips for exploring the area.
A lovely few days away - lots of fantastic food and drink - the location of Jane’s place was ideal for visiting the numerous restaurants etc - and relaxing views from the balcony overlooking the harbour added to the atmosphere
This is the second time we have stayed, Jane and Peter are the loveliest host. Highly recommend staying. The location is fabulous, everything Padstow can offer is on the doorstep.
Padstow is well known as a centre both for watersports and good restaurants. There are two championship golf courses within easy reach and several surfing beaches. The estuary is a sheltered paradise for sailing, water-skiing and swimming. Speed boats and pleasure trips operate from the harbour, as does the ferry to Rock, on the other side of the estuary. A night water-taxi runs between Padstow and Rock once the ferry has stopped. We are close to the Camel Trail, a popular cycle trail which runs along the estuary to Wadebridge and from there to Bodmin and Wenford Bridge, and there are two cycle hire shops. Numerous shops, bars and restaurants, including Rick Stein's three: the Seafood Restaurant, St Petroc's Bistro and Stein's Café. Other good restaurants are No. 6 and Rojano's (Paul Ainsworth), and the Golden Lion serves excellent pub grub. The ferry takes you across the estuary to Rock, where there are several beaches, a pub and an excellent restaurant with a large sun terrace. Rock is a sailing area, so there is always something to watch.
Padstow has a bus service, covering most of Cornwall, and linking to Bodmin Parkway, which is the nearest rail station. There is an airport at Newquay, about forty minutes drive. A ferry runs during the day to Rock, on the other side of the estuary.
自我介绍
I live in a small port, Padstow, on the north coast of Cornwall, absolutely beautiful. We have been doing bed and breakfast here on South Quay for thirty years or more. I spend most of my free time in the summer sailing (a Laser dinghy or a Cornish Shrimper) and ski for several weeks in the winter in Europe with my husband Peter. I think I am considered to be quite a good cook (!!!), I love music, opera especially, reading, walking my dog Fitou, partying. We much enjoy doing B & B because the variety of people one meets is infinite. My life motto is "If you did it yesterday, then you can do it today - if you can do it today you will be able to do it tomorrow."
