I booked Mindy's place for a short getaway with my parents...my dad and I used to come to the Mt Ida area when I was a kid to hunt for quartz crystals, and I wanted to relive that experience before we both got too old! I'm pretty picky about places to stay, so I literally looked at almost every rental online to find the 'right' place for us. In the end I chose Mindy's place, and it proved to be a great choice! The place was clean, comfortable, well decorated, updated, good internet, directtv in all rooms, outdoor grill, washer/dryer, etc. I couldn't have asked for more. And, Mindy was always super-responsive in providing answers to the few questions I had. The area was quiet, super close to the lake, and convenient to our daily activities. I highly recommend Mindy's place. I don't think you'll be disappointed!

Mindy had several good reviews and I trusted that all would go smoothly. My first clue should have been when there was no response from my message sent at 10 am that we would arrive between 8-10pm on day of check in. We had rescheduled to the weekend after the eclipse due to concern of increased visitors. I was considerate and made sure to request a reschedule a week in advance, which Mindy accepted, and you can see from her reviews was able to refill. After driving 9 hours with 2 children we were unable to open the lock box. Mindy did not respond to messages or phone calls and the co host does not have a number listed. Airbnb was unable to reach the host as well. After spending an hour at our already paid for stay, we had to book a hotel that was overpriced and 40 mins away. I debated not leaving this review, but Mindy never even apologized. She did call my phone at 6:45 a.m. the next morning, which was also frustrating as we had not gotten checked into a new place until midnight.

We booked this to be able to see the 2024 eclipse in the path of totality. Very nice accommodations. Everything was as advertised. Peaceful and private with great views and easy access to the water. Got a great night's sleep.

Mindy was a lovely hostess! We were 4 adults and there was plenty of room. We all loved her place. Lots to do, or you can just relax out on the beautiful deck. We will definitely be back!
