Caliscotia Cottage sits within its own attractive gardens which extend to 1/3 acre off a private lane in the hamlet of Balkeerie village on the Perthshire / Angus border. Amongst the beautiful scenery of the vale of Strathmore there are fabulous views to the mountains of Glenshee and Glen Clova. It is very comfortably furnished with full oil central heating and a very large garden with ample parking. You will immediately feel welcome. It has two bedrooms and one bath, sleeps five.
We had a lovely stay here with our two children. Cosy and surrounded by picturesque countryside. Well equipped and had everything we needed for a comfortable, relaxing stay.
wow what a view and a lovely little cottage with everything you need even a slow cooker!! comfy beds and perfectly clean and tidy and very holmly
Beautiful, peaceful surroundings in an ideal location for Glamis Castle and beyond. Stephanie was very welcoming but didn't intrude. The neighbours always gave a smile and a chat. Our Labrador loved the walks through the fields only a few metres away. The cottage is warm and cosy and well supplied with utensils etc for self catering. The cottage is small, especially the lounge and kitchen so if you like space to spread out, this may not be the place for you. However, the sun room/conservatory is a big bonus and is heated to keep it cosy. It looks out over a lovely garden which must be beautiful in the summer.
Very quaint cottage with absolutely everything you could possibly want or need. Beautiful location, lovely responsive communication and magnificent garden.
The cottage located in the hamlet of Balkeerie midway between Newtyle and Glamis. A favorite landmark is Kinpurnie tower high on the hill East of Newtyle. It shows the way back home while out and about the Strathmore valley; e.g., while golfing at the Strathmore Golf Club. Newtyle has a convenience store and a butcher. The garden is fenced and gated for children and pets. Enjoy watching the birds feed from the feeders.
The A94 highway is easily accessed from Balkeerie or Newtyle. The village of Newtyle has daily bus service to Dundee. The village store has a hiking trail map for several walks nearby. The most popular is Kinpurnie Hill via the Den End trail up through the den to the top where Kinpurnie Tower stands.
