Melanie was an amazing host. She was very responsive and her place was immaculate. It was truly a home away from home. We loved sitting by the river during the day and relaxing watching a movie on the projector screen at night. We would absolutely recommend this place to anyone who is looking to have a peaceful getaway. We will definitely be coming back.

Absolutely beautiful. We visited with our parents and sister from Canada plus our two small children. The bedroom setup including the tiny house and cabin gave us that extra space and personal separation so everyone had their own area. The main house is wonderful. Clean, spacious, minimal, so we didn’t have to worry about little kids and breakables. Everything we needed was accessible. The access to the river and small beach is perfect for the kiddos. Highly recommend visiting.

The space is sprawling, has great amenities and a stunning view. We did not get to enjoy the outdoors as much as we would like because of spring showers but we enjoyed watching movies on the movie screen with surround sound in the master. My son and youngest daughter shared the extra queen bed in black cabin which also has a movie screen/streaming. My 12 year old indulged in her solitude in the mini cabin and we even enjoyed a secluded date night in the cabin without the kiddos:) The kitchen is stocked with everything you need. The drive to D.C. is an 1 hour if not waking extremely early or really late. We expected this because we stayed in Accokeek the year prior. We did have a few tech issues and other unscripted events occur while there, but Melanie responded efficiently and offered assistance and was very kind in making things accommodating. As a family of 5 we enjoyed all the spaces offered to us, our 6, 9 and 12 year old loved the space and we are very keen to return!

Absolutely gorgeous stay, very comfortable. A note for cosleepers: the master bed is too soft for it, but the twin beds in the other bedroom (with a crib) are perfect. Everything was laid out incredibly well and was so inviting (including extra food in the kitchen, a guide book of the local amenities and s'more supplies!). The one slight negative, a mouse presence in the kitchen, was not totally unexpected in a place so surrounded by beautiful woods. Melanie was very responsive and apologetic about the mouse and even refunded part of the cleaning fee. All in all, would absolutely stay again and highly recommend the home to anyone looking for a beautiful, tranquil, welcoming stay.
