Our stay at The Captain's Cottage was the perfect place to stay for our first visit to Cape Charles. We felt like we were staying in a home away from home. Comfortable home kept in excellent condition. We love how everything was updated while still maintaining the historic charm. Mark and McKenzie communicated every step of the way - very gracious hosts.

We had an amazing stay! House was exactly how It was pictured and perfect for the family gathering I had envisioned. The layout and flow of the house is great and all nicely decorated. Cozy and warm!! Outdoor fireplace was most enjoyable on the chilly spring evenings. Mark and McKenzie have a lovely house and have checked all the boxes for a wonderful getaway!

This is a beautiful old home that has renovated kitchen and bathrooms. The backyard was amazing, and we found the living space and the bedrooms very comfortable. Centrally located, decorated nicely and lots of amenities in the home. The charm of this beautiful house comes with some house noise (creaky floorboards mostly) which we easily covered with a white noise app on our phones as our group was large and ages/wake up times varied! But that was the only challenge we had. I highly recommend.
