Great spot to rejuvenate with family. Very private, cabin was well equipped and had a large table to eat or play board games on. We also enjoyed the flat grassy area for sports games and the dock was great for all our water activities.

The headline here is that we had to invest a couple hours on arrival cleaning to make the property useable. And when we raised concerns with the host, she scoffed and made excuses rather than being helpful. We stayed a week in July 2021 with my siblings and our kids (aged 3-17) and rented both the main house and small cabin. The property is in a beautiful location on a swimmable lake. The cabins are rustic and smaller than suggested by the pictures but well stocked and quite lovely. The beds are not comfortable but that’s not unusual and we survived. The ad mentions fishing rods on site but none were to be found. Our first challenge on arrival was that the fridge was disgustingly dirty. Thick grime was caked around the shelves. We found condiments from 2013. When I raised the concern about the fridge she said the glass shelves couldn’t be lifted to properly clean. Not true: we had to spend our first hour on the property doing just that. We filled two large bags with the garbage we found under the sink: there was life growing there, no joke! My sister in law had a mild stroke cleaning it up and she doesn’t scare easily. I on the other hand ran dry-heaving out the door from the rancid smell. I was so thankful to have brought gloves and Lysol or we would have had to have left it was so inhospitable. Outside, the lawn between the house and waterline was caked with goose poop. We literally couldn’t walk a foot without stepping in piles. The amount of Goose poop left on the lawn where our kids were expected to play had to be WEEKS of collection that hadn’t been cleared off. When we raised a concern the owner said she couldn’t do anything about it: it was “nature”. Again, not true: the lawn was perfectly useable after we invested an hour raking and mowing it. After that, a bit of daily maintenance was all that was required. The host’s position regarding the fridge and lawn simply show laziness and low standards on her part. We paid $5000 for the week and feel our expectations were pretty basic: a clean, useable space.
