Roland and Megan’s place is an eclectic gem in a great location. We enjoyed some amazing swims in the river and lake and then an afternoon visiting a couple of wineries.

Birdsong Cottage was perfect for our needs for 3 days in July. It is a funky little place that worked well for 6 people for a destination wedding near Kinsol Trestle. There is a friendly resident cat who was well mannered and seemed content enough to stay outside to accommodate an allergic guest. The owners were great at communication as we did have some questions for them and they were quick to respond. There is a short drive to the Lakehouse restaurant which is amazing (reservations are recommended). The cottage is also close to the shops and businesses in the little Shawnigan village. We loved the ice cream shop, bakery and coffee shop. All in all a very pleasant stay.

The house and private yard with the hot tub was very enjoyable for the duration of our stay! Easy travels to Salt Spring Island and Victoria.
