Koru is a beautifully decorated, comfortable cottage with spectacular views of Bamburgh Castle and the Farne Islands from the lounge and the Northumberland countryside from the glass balustrade balcony. Enjoy leisurely days on the glorious Bamburgh beach followed by dinner on the balcony watching the sun set and stars emerge. The cottage has ‘upside-down’ living with the two bedrooms and separate bathroom downstairs and the open plan lounge, kitchen and dining area to make the most of the fabulous views. The lounge has a Smart TV and a ‘mess free’ gas-fired log burner for chilly winter nights. The spacious glazed balcony is great to sit out on during warm summer days and faces west for dinners watching the sunsets and migrating birds. There is also a small, lawned and fenced garden at the back for garden games and barbecues, and a hose for rinsing sandy wet suits!

We agree with the other reviews which said that this is one of the best Airbnb places we have visited Caroline has thought of everything and is clearly a very experienced host. We loved the design and ambience of the property and immediately felt at home there. It was warm and cosy, comfortable bed, plenty hot water and a balcony to watch the sunset. The location was beautiful and peaceful but easy to walk to Bamburgh and good road access elsewhere. We would love to stay again next time we visit this area.

Lovely cottage, sea and castle visible from modern and spacious upstairs living area. Host very helpful and quick communications, generous welcome basket, straightforward check in and out. Cottage is a couple of miles from the coast and Bamburgh, in a quiet hamlet. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to visit again.
Koru cottage was a wonderful combination of an old-feeling cottage with modern amenities, with a view of Bamburgh Castle that never gets old. The location is great, as you can drive to a few nearby villages and parking at the cottage is easy and convenient. It’s about a 5 min drive (or 20 min walk) to Bamburgh and just a couple of minutes drive further down the road to Seahouses. Holy island is also a short drive away. The only (very slight) disappointment is that the pubs required either a short drive or a long walk. The cottage itself is charming, but with modern comfort (e.g. appliances, heating, insulation, etc). It is well appointed with any cooking equipment you may need and the grocery stores are just a short drive away, or they deliver to the cottage.
Warm and welcoming place to stay in a great location, ideal for exploring Northumberland. Enjoyed a lovely autumn break in this beautiful and comfortable house. Caroline was a brilliant host, making sure we had a warm welcome and everything we needed. Great set up with living space upstairs to make the most of views of Bamburgh Castle and countryside. Ideal for any season with outdoor space for summer and cosy fire for the colder months. Great location with Bamburgh on the doorstep and easy access to spots such as Lindisfarne and Alnwick.

Glororum is a quiet, picturesque hamlet about a mile (2-3 minute drive) from the village of Bamburgh. It is comprised of renovated, traditional stone farm buildings many of which are holiday cottages, surrounded by fields of arable crops and livestock. It lies on the crest of a gentle hill which enables Koru to have the wonderful views on both sides.
There are two private parking spaces with the cottage and some shared spaces in the front area. Newcastle is the closest international airport from where you can easily hire a car for the one hour journey north to the cottage up the A1. The nearest main train station is Alnmouth and largest nearby town is Alnwick (25 minutes drive south from Koru).
