We stayed in Barco House for 5 days in Penrith. It’s was lovely, clean, well-stocked and very comfortable. The bathroom is amazing—heated towels, wow! Louisa was the best host; communication was excellent. It was about a 20 min walk from the train station but about 10 minutes to town. We walked to the bus stop everyday and were able to use the buses to see the northern lakes. What a beautiful area! It was a pleasure to meet Louisa, and her husband, Martyn. They went out of their way for us. Highly recommend!

My partner and I absolutely loved staying at Louisa's apartment! It had everything we needed and was a great place to rest after a day of hiking. We especially liked the kitchen as it was very well equipped! The apartment was very clean and beautifully decorated. It's also a perfect location for people using the public transport as the train station and bus stops are just a few minutes away. Louisa was a great host - very helpful and knows how to make the guests feel welcome!

This was the perfect base for our stay in the Lakes. It was spotless and really does have everything you need! The surrounding area had some lovely bars and cafes as well as local shops/supermarkets. It’s a great location for exploring the lakes and a perfect cosy retreat after a day of walking. The personal touches made it feel special and the bed is very comfortable. Louisa was a fab host and provided prompt responses to any queries we had - we would definitely recommended!

Louisa was very welcoming and very kind to us and also to a couple of friends who visited us during our stay. The apartment was spacious, comfortable and well furnished with all that we needed. It was a peaceful environment with no traffic noise whilst only being a 10 minute walk into the centre of Penrith. Certainly intend to return.
