Lovely 3 day stay at The Old Stable. Comfortable ,clean,cosy,peaceful and quiet. Fantastic powerful shower. Appreciated the bread, milk and various teas and coffees. Perfect location for hiking around Ullswater.

If I could give 10 stars, I easily would. I'm not exaggerating when I say the place was gorgeous - situated in a nice quiet town (unlike what I hear are more touristy areas) and with beautiful drives/towns all around. Before we arrived (my partner and parents), Alister send us detailed instructions on how to access the place and we were welcomed into warm, 2-storey cottage with cookies and a bottle of bubbles that that were arranged for us (in addition to local butter, milk and other amenities). The place itself has been decorated and equipped with much love and thought and there is nothing you will miss. We had the most wonderful Christmas with the fireplace on and there was even a decorated Christmas tree! Whenever I had a question and messaged Alister via the platform, he responded almost instantly. I hope I'm not forgetting anything but I cannot recommend this place enough if you are looking for a stress-free getaway in the Lake District!

Excellent stay at Alistair’s place. The description is very accurate, nice little hamper and flowers. We have an electric car that we were able to charge there (gave some cash at the end of our stay). The whole place was spotless. Would strongly recommend!
