This property served as the perfect base for us to explore the Lake District. Instructions for arrival were clear and when we arrived the house looked very clean, family friendly and a beautiful garden. However, there were a couple of things that didn’t work i.e., the shower head in the bath and the bedroom main light. Nothing major, but just little niggles. Overall a really lovely stay, thank you very much 😊
The barn is an ideal base for exploring the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales and Eden Valley, with many great attractions nearby.
Ullswater (8 miles) is one of the most beautiful lakes in the Lake District National Park. The location is synonymous with its wide selection of high and shoreline walks. Rheged, the incredible Airaforce waterfalls and the Ullswater Steamers are all must-visit attractions.
The nearest pub is The Clickham Inn (1.5 miles), serving great food and a selection of ales.
Penrith (5 miles) is a market town with many local shops and supermarkets. It's also on the main West coast railway line linking London to Glasgow. Taxis and busses are available from the station. However, due to the village location of this property, we highly recommend guests have access to their own transport.
Keswick (14 miles) is hugely popular with visitors primarily due to the great choice of shops, but also for the picturesque boat rides on Derwent Water.
Whether you prefer to relax and take in the stunning views or partake in outdoor activities such as cycling, walking, sailing or fishing, there is something for everyone in this beautiful corner of the country.
The rural village doesn't benefit from public transport. Therefore guests will need transport.
