Our immediate neighborhood is mostly residential, but we have some lovely local parks for enjoying the outdoors. Cabin John Park has a lovely playground, dog park, and hiking trails, and a kiddie train that runs in summer months; there's also an indoor ice rink that's open year-round. Tilden Woods Park is another great park, with a playground and tennis courts. For year-round swimming, the indoor Kennedy Shriver Aquatic Center is a great pool, with a small indoor water park and water slide! Our property has a small lot with several open spaces; feel free to park in any off-street parking space. We live in a suburban neighborhood and driving may be easier than public transit for quick local outings, though there are also several great restaurants within walking distance. For trips into DC, we recommend taking the Metro for easier access and to avoid parking concerns. The nearest Metro station is Grosvenor-Strathmore on the Red Line.
