A couple kilometers inland from the lighthouse, the "Casitas" which mean little houses consist of traditional concrete Mexican small homes, duplex type homes with a mix of larger ornate homes. WIth the beach less than a few kilometer away, this unique little part of town also has small grocery stores, laundry, and shops. You will also find food restaurants , casual bars that will play live music in the evening.
There is a shaded walkway down the center of the main street that is used for pedestrian use, this allows access at every street.
There are many Amenities within walking distance from the apartments.

The Lazy Iguana apartments are located just off the main street (AV. P. del Puerto), we provide one parking spot for your vehicle.
Taxi's are also available to downtown, depending where you would like to be dropped off.
Alternatively you can walk to town. The start of town is the lighthouse , and this is 1.7km away from the apartments, from there you can walk along the Malecon (boardwalk) check out all the beach clubs along the whole way.
All restaurants and beach are South of the Lighthouse. The further South you head the longer it will take .
You can also rent bicycles in town, please let us know if this interests you and we can give you recommendations on places.
The cruise ship port is also a close walk from the apartments , less than a kilometre away.
There are a few restaurants, bars, corner stores, laundry and shops that are located close to the apartments and within walking distance.
It is a safe 3 1/2 hour drive from Cancún to Mahahual if you would like to rent a vehicle during your stay . Bus service is also another great and safe option. There are daily buses from Cancun , Playa de Carmen and Tulum to Mahahual.
