This place was beautiful and unique. Perfect place for a family vacation. Our 6 and 7 year olds loved the animals, swing, waterfalls, swimming holes and zip line. I loved the food and the stunning bamboo home.

The farm is set alongside a beautiful river. We enjoyed our hikes along side it very much. The bamboo structure of the home is lovely, our kids had fun, however I feel the place is better suited for adults searching for peace and nature in a truly remote location.

Wow, this is a special place. Our family of 6 (2 kids ages 8 & 4, 2 parents, 2 grandparents) really enjoyed escaping the heat of the coast for a few days up to the much cooler mountains. Digna made us delicious breakfasts and dinners each day. She is an excellent cook, the food is fresh from the farm, and it felt like a huge treat to not have to cook for ourselves. We enjoyed relaxing with our books and watercoloring in our travel journals, playing cards together around the table, the swimming holes, the hikes, the farm animals, and getting to know Rene and Digna. Rene is a character–my dad and him hit it off and had a great time together. Bring good shoes/light hiking boots for all the nice trails on the property, bug spray, swim suits, headlamps for after dark. DO NOT drive up the mountain "road" from the coast (Uvita/Dominical area) unless you are an experienced overlander and in a 4x4 (the grade is STEEP and road is ROUGH)...go the long way through San Isidro de General.

The property was beautiful. So much to do from hiking to waterfalls to feeding the chickens and goat. It was so peaceful, and everyone was so helpful. We had a wonderful experience on the farm.

We stayed in 7 Airbnb’s on a Costa Rican road trip and Irene’s place was a family favorite. The architecture was so beautiful- we loved admiring the craftsmanship! The location was incredibly peaceful and safe! We hiked the grounds, watched the sloth who lived just outside the front door and fed the animals. The caretakers were so kind and helpful! We LOVED the organic meals- we would definitely recommend them!! It’s a real working small family farm. Digna is a talented chef! The temperature was perfect- no problem sleeping at night.
