The Villa Helios was just as described...a very peaceful and restful place within relatively easy walking distance of the nearest village of Gavalachori and the coastal town of Alymirida.The pool was great,very clean and a welcome relief from the 30 degree temperature.The kitchen is adequately equipped and the bedrooms and living room have air con and ceiling fans to keep you cool. Chania is easy to reach via the air conditioned coach/bus with tickets available from the shop next to the bus stop.If you want to travel further afield,then a hire car would be a good idea . The best thing about Villa Helios is John and Tina who are an extremely friendly and informative couple who answered all of our questions and were only too happy to help make our holiday as enjoyable as possible. Overall,we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Villa Helios and we would very much recommend it to fellow travellers....

We had a very nice stay at the Saint Basil Olive Grove. John and Tina are lovely people and are there for you when you need them. Lovely swimming pool and covered terrace. We enjoyed it immensely.

Impressive residence! Marcus and Tina provided us with an exceptional experience, conveniently located only 45 minutes from the heart of Chania. Their assistance and hospitality were truly commendable. The property greatly appealed to us, being remarkably tranquil, immaculately clean, and well-appointed. However, the only minor drawback was our endeavor to locate a public waste disposal facility, which prompted us to deposit our refuse in the neighboring village, causing slight inconvenience to some locals. Nevertheless, overall, our stay was highly enjoyable and satisfying.

Très beau séjour dans la villa, conforme aux attentes. Environnement exceptionnel, paisible propice au voyage. Hôte réactif et accueillant. Emplacement parfait, au carrefour des plus belles excursions de crète. Nous conseillons fortement ! Attention toutefois à la période de réservation, car seul bémol à ce cadre idyllique : le système de climatisation limité à deux heures max. Résultat, dans les chambres de l'étage (sous les toits) en période de fortes chaleurs il est obligé de se lever toutes les deux heures pour enclencher le système car ces dernières se transforment en véritable petit four (38° dans les chambres à l'étage dans la demie heure qui suit la mise en veille automatique de la clim').
