Great stay. Absolutely stunning property. The pool, the gardens are amazing, and the view is gorgeous. they even had a full moon! Wish we could've stayed longer. The hosts are communicative, helpful, and our stay was fantastic. Five stars!!!

Logement très joli donnant vue sur une jardin splendide avec très belle piscine tout cela en ayant une vue magique sur la baie de Funchal. Nous recommandons. Juste un conseil bien suivre la route du jardin botanique comme indiqué par l’hôte c’est déjà suffisamment pentu donc sur la dernière partie ne pas suivre le gps.

This spot is about a 15 min drive from downtown Funchal and less than 40 min from some of the most popular hikes. It is close to one of the bus lines and had a local restaurant right up the hill. You do share the property and pool with another rental but we were lucky and had it to ourselves almost the whole time. The location is convenient but felt very private with just unmatches views! Just fair warning - it is on a VERY steep hill and the ride up to it is steep and windy so make sure you get an appropriately car that can handle those kinds of inclines! If you are driving to other spots, you will want one anyway. Highly recommend this location, you won't regret it!

A perfect place for two people. We had everything we needed for our 4 night stay. Kitchen was well stocked with a few things for cooking like olive oil and salt and pepper etc. shampoo and soap provided in the bathroom and extra blankets for the bed if needed. Portable heaters for main room and bedroom were useful in March. The garden in front of the house is beautiful and clearly a labour of love. Spot the turtle and the mouse bushes. Lauren’s recommendations for restaurants were great. The tradicional was excellent and good value. A nice excursion from the house is to walk down the hill to the botanical gardens cable car and take that to Monte. Watch the toboggans and then take the trail in front of the cable car station to the east across the valley and up to levada tornos and back to the house via the roads. Use All Trails app to find your route. The swimming pool is shared with the main house which is next door. The guests at the house were quiet.
