Our self contained holiday accommodation (the French word is gite) is a working equestrian farm, it is peaceful, safe for families with children or pets as well as being 5 star and perfect for couples. Each upstairs bedroom has an ensuite bathroom. 1 bedroom is queen, the second bedroom can be queen or twin. The living area & kitchen is fully equipped, airy and comfortable. Private parking in the rear.

This was much better than expected! Elodie and Carole were extremely helpful and always available when we needed them. The snacks they provided saved us as we weren't prepared for how earlier everything in the area closes down. The location is very central to a lot of places in Normandy and we didn't have any issues getting around. The facility is old, but very well kept, and the grounds are absolutely gorgeous. The beds were comfortable with plenty of space in all the rooms. The kitchen had everything we needed and more. We wish we could have stayed longer, and will definitely be back. Thank you!

Diana was a fantastic host and cheerfully welcomed us on arrival and gave us a tour of the property. There was a very thoughtful welcoming basket that had items that the area is known for. The property was large and well outfitted for our long weekend excursion. The grounds are unbelievable, from the well manicured lawns to the countless fields with horses. We were blown away with how beautiful the property was.

We stayed for 3 nights. The check in was simple and quick. The gite is spacious and comfortable. The surrounding area is beautiful and the grounds of Haras du Ry are beautiful and very well kept. We went on day trips to many of the sites around Normandy and the location in perfect. We wish that we could stay longer and if we are in the area again we will definitely stay here. Diana was quick to respond to any need that we had and speaks very good English. Thank you for an unforgettable time in Normandy.

Tourist attractions within an easy day drive
Haras du Ry is located in the heart of Normandy so is a perfect holiday destination. An equidistant 15 minutes from Utah Beach and Omaha Beach, you are in the best location for touring the famous D Day invasion sites if you are interested in this World War 2 history.
If you are a beach buff then the peninsula of La Manche is surrounded by over 200km of fantastic and varied coastline. Start on the west coast with a visit to the famous Mont St. Michel, then a leisurely drive to the resort of Granville with its Christian Dior Museum and gardens. Agon-Coutainville is famed for its fine oysters and then miles of accessible and clean sandy beaches stretch up to the chic boutique ports of Barneville-Carteret. Following the route des Caps, or the sentier des douaniers (coastal footpath) is a great way to explore the cliffs and coves of the pink granite coast up to the rugged landscape of La Hague.
Perhaps a quick ferry visit for a day from Cherbourg to Jersey or Gurnsey Island appeals or just continue heading east from Cherbourg with its state of the art aquarium, the region of Val de Saire and the ports St.Vaast and Barfleur, famed for their mussels or the Ile de Tatihou nature reserve.
Inland, the landscape is defined by traditional agricultural practices, which over the centuries have created the 'bocage', a network of small fields, hedgerows and narrow lanes. There is often a surprise around a corner as Normandy boasts many fine manoirs,,Chateaux and gardens, many of which are open to the public
A little further East & you easily reach the port of Grand Camp Maisy where the morning markets deliver the best seafood you have ever tasted. Then it is a short 15 minute drive to the famous medieval city of Bayeaux with the cathedral & tapestry. It is also an easy day trip to the beautiful Monet's garden.
