This impressive 12th Century Castellated Grade II* listed Castle can sleep up to 12 guests in stunningly appointed bedrooms. Orchardleigh Castle East Battlement benefits from stunning outside space along with its own private hot tub and being located on a 500 acre private estate. Orchardleigh Golf and Country Club is within walking distance also offers a full bar and food menu along with a children's adventure playground. Orchardleigh Castle East Battlement is situated on the Orchardleigh Estate. This impressive 12th Century Castellated Castle is a Grade II* listed and of particular special national importance being one of only 4% of buildings in this higher category. A picturesque gothic-style building with 3-storey towers to each side of the portcullis latticework wooden gates. The forecourt is surrounded by a semi-circular castellated curtain wall, flanked by machicolated towers forming giant gate piers that envelope the landscaped gardens. On the ground floor the Castle has a magnificent Oak panelled living room with gigantic Inglenook fireplace, beautifully appointed kitchen, Dining room and Utility room. Double doors open onto beautifully landscaped gardens with Garden Furniture and a fabulous Hot tub. Sleeping up to twelve guests, there are two double bedrooms on the ground floor, along with a luxuriously decorated Victorian-style bathroom. Another double and 2 sets of bunk beds on the first floor and a Victorian-style bathroom. A further two guests can sleep on the sofa bed located in the lounge giving a maximum of twelve guests.

We had a lovely weekend stay at Orchardleigh. The property itself was incredible and a great place to stay with beautiful surroundings. The check in process was simple and the check out was even easier. Honestly cant recommend the location highly enough.

We had an amazing stay at Orchardleigh for my boyfriends 30th. It had everything we could need and we loved having the hot tub overlooking the sheep. The guidebook was also very helpful and we went to Cheddar Gorge which would highly recommend. Such a special location and would highly recommend

Beautiful location. Responsive communcation with very easy check in. Was perfect for a family get together to celebrate a birthday. Private enclosed garden looking over fields was perfect for the kids and the dog. Hot tub was massive and clean and got used a lot even with the rainy night we stayed. Would happily visit again.

Nestled at the heart of stunning countryside, The East Castle sits on the Northern end of Orchardleigh Estate; a privately owned 500 acre estate. Surrounded by a picturesque landscape. Orchardleigh Estate provides endless activities, including countryside walks, an 18 hole golf course and fishing (by prior arrangement), to name but a few. Orchardleigh Golf and Country Club is within walking distance also offers a full bar and menu along with a children's adventure playground.
Orchardleigh Golf and Country Club, a Brian Huggett designed 18 hole course, Golf course of the year Southwest England 2023 (Your Golfer). 6th Best course in Somerset2023 (Top 100 courses). Full driving range and practice facilities along with the Peacock and Stag Restaurant and Bar.
Golf can be booked via the website, from £16 for 18 holes, we also hire Golf Clubs and offer lessons.
There are tranquil walks on the Estate around our 35 acres of lakes and 12th Century Island Church. We do have livestock so please do keep your dogs on a lead.
Golf buggies can also be booked via the Golf Club.

The Famous Longleat House and Safari Park is only 10 mins from Orchardleigh, and can offer an amazing day out for all the family
The stunning City of Bath along with the architectural and the historical Roman Baths, is worth a visit during your stay. Along with some fantastic shopping too! 20 mins from Orchardleigh Estate.
World Heritage site of Stonehenge is 25 mins from Orchardleigh. This prehistoric monument is one not to be missed during your stay with us.
Cheddar Gorge is stunning area to visit too. Lots of walks, scenery and caving are on offer. 30 Mins from Orchardleigh Estate
Wookey Hole Caves and Adventure is a great day out for the family and 30 mins from Orchardleigh Estate
Iford Manor has the beautiful Grade I listed garden, for all the horticulturalists. 15 Mins
