Hi I’m Nancy, I’m married with two teenage children. I’m very interested in interiors, travel, cooking and art. We have lived at The Cottage for 12 years and we love it. We have the best of both worlds, a 15 minute drive into central Bath and rolling countryside on our doorstep. The Cottage is a charming 200 year old property which sleeps 8 comfortably with 4 good sized double bedrooms (2 with super king sized beds) There is a private drive which can accommodate up to 6 cars. The Cottage is immaculate throughout, neutrally decorated with gorgeous features such as limestone floors, exposed beams, a wood burner and an acre of private garden. The well stocked kitchen and dining room is open plan and is a lovely entertaining space. Each of the good sized bedrooms have extremely comfortable beds all with lovely views and two stunning bathrooms (one en suite) The master bedroom has the addition of a pretty balcony overlooking the private garden with panoramic views. In the living room there is a 55” HD flatscreen TV with sound bar, Netflix, Amazon Prime, DVD player and a wireless BOSE music system. We also have unlimited WiFi. The enormous garden has masses to offer including out door lighting, a luxury jacuzzi with blue tooth music and lights, a pizza oven, bbq, fire pit, ping pong table, 2 stunning outside eating areas and 2 large lawned areas for football and other games. There is the addition of a contemporary designed converted stable in the garden which sleeps 2-4 which can be rented out at an additional cost. As well as a beautifully designed shepherds hut which sleeps 2 which can be booked separately too. The Cottage is near 3 very good pubs, the Wheatsheaf in Combe Hay, the Fox and Badger in Wellow and The Packhorse in Southstoke, all 5-10 minute drive away. There are also pretty country walks and I provide maps of these in the handbook. It takes 10-15 minutes to drive into central Bath. Bath is a world famous heritage site due to its Roman remains, 18th century architecture, hot springs and landscape setting. There is a park and ride 5 minutes away and a bus stop 20 yards away from the Cottage’s gate. Taxis cost £15 into central Bath and UBER operates in the area. This is our family home and we love living here and have made every effort to make it as luxurious as possible for our lovely guests. I have lived in Bath for a very long time so can recommend lots of places to visit and eat out so please ask if you need tips to get the best out of your stay.
