Landing at La Chiara the weekend of the biggest Notre Dame game of the year was PURE Divine Intervention. Our weekend surpassed all our expectations! I received emails from Frank during our 7 hour drive asking things like what kind of milk we would we like as well as how old our kiddos are. Imagine my kids’ delight to find a treasure hunt upon arriving. As I’m writing this, I’m getting swept with feelings of gratitude for Frank’s generous spirit. Not only was there milk in the fridge, but juice, beer, eggs, a rotisserie chicken, and pastries from the local Norwegian bakery! When I told him it was an anniversary trip, he offered up a bottle of wine! “I want to live here,” my kids said. It was like spending a night at a cool, funky gallery. My kids haven’t played with dolls in years but there we were in a legit playroom, on the floor under the twinkly lights. I felt like a guest in my cousin’s house. IYKYK, there was all sorts of Camino magic at La Chiara for these weary travelers.

What a gem! Frank was such a wonderful host- seriously the most committed to hospitality that I've experienced in 10+ years and 40+ Airbnb stays. He set up a super fun scavenger hunt for my kids before we arrived. They LOVED it. He was so accommodating for the kids including setting up a diaper changing station and curating a toy room with toys that were perfect for their ages. Would recommend staying here to anyone, especially with kids!

La Chiara was the most wonderful bnb we have ever stayed at!!! Frank was beyond amazing with thoughtful gestures, amenities, and effort to make sure our stay was the best it could be. The bnb itself was cozy, full of life and art which we loved! My kids favorite was the airplane lounge for reading and the vintage trucks for races down the driveway. Fridges were thoughtfully stocked with snacks and drinks to make it extra special! The location was perfect and we enjoyed breakfast at Union Cafe and the Farmers market on Saturday right in town. Pear Mill is a must see as the history was so fascinating and the kids got to mill their own corn. Don’t forget to spend a day at Captain Mikes, then go down the road for ice cream at the Beach Bucket and BBQ at the tiny shack across the parking lot! Finish your day at the Dunes which you can enter right across the street! Just the most wonderful time at La Chiara and it will forever be our rental anytime we go to MI!!!!!! So worth the stay!!!!

Frank went above and beyond with his attention to detail and hospitality. It felt like I was visiting a family friend. My kid loved it. When my family arrived there was a treasure hunt waiting for them and when they found the treasure it was a $30 Starbucks gift card. The kids couldn’t believe it. I hardly needed to go shopping for any kind of food or snack or beverage. Frank made sure our favorite snacks were waiting for us along with along with some delicious pastries and a whole rotisserie chicken. On our last day Frank was so kind and generous. I had hurt my back during the trip and my son had hurt himself. Frank told us not worry about the clean up and that we could check out a little latter. He also brought us another round of delicious pastries. It was so much fun. Thank you Frank

Frank went above and beyond with amazing communication and providing drinks/snacks for our stay. Would highly recommend staying for anyone traveling to Buchanan!
