Location: Location is on moose river, a mile or so past Moosehead Lake. The river is not wide at all. Right across the river is a popular restaurant - patrons can be quite loud and can be heard from the cabins. The cabins you stay in are all quite close to each other. There were very many loud guests and pets on site which made it less than peaceful. My cabin was technically waterfront though directly in front of the cabin was the location for inner tubes / kayaks / canoes to be stored. There were kids toys strewn throughout and the boats laying around gave quite the unkempt appearance. For check-in I was told to drive right to the waterfront and my cabin would be there. This was very confusing as there were multiple waterfront cabins and multiple paths to take to the waterfront. A map of cabins with names would have been useful. Cabin: When I arrived my cabin was super musty and had a strong odor from the disinfectants used by the cleaning crew. Really quite intolerable. The windows were open when I arrived during a significant downpour - instructions from the host say to keep windows open "except during a storm" so that was a bit alarming. There was a ceiling fan and desk fan but both were COVERED in dust so I did not want to use those. There were also several dead bugs on the windowsills. The wifi did not work for my entire stay. The bed was fine, pillows were not great but what I have come to expect for rentals. Kitchen was fully stocked and there were towels in the bathroom. There was a binder inside with nifty information about local activities. Communication: I did not appreciate the hosts calling me "eager" for wanting to know about check-in/check-out information greater than 24 hours in advance. Hosts were visible on site so I could have gone to them with questions. Other: There IS laundry on site in a guest laundry facility. Would have been nice to know ahead of time.

This was a quaint and cozy place. We are here in November and we should have brought some thick socks. There were no worries since this place had good heating. There is a fire pit by the water. A must do when it’s chilly. Make sure you have some kindling since it took us a while to get the fire started. I still think it was something we were doing wrong.
