Nature Lover’s Paradise! We’re local to this area but we don’t live on the water. We rented this chic little cabin in October. It sits in its own little secluded slice of heaven. The cabin has everything you could need and there’s a large Dollar General down the road if you forget anything. The retro kitchen is like stepping back in time. The porch has bunk beds and a swing and plenty of other seating. Two fans on the porch will help you cool off if it’s summer. My son spent so much time on the pier. Even the dog loved it! You will not regret this place especially if you love nature. There were so many pelicans and fish and the boys even boiled and ate the shrimp they caught off the pier. We even saw dolphins. This place is a treasure and we would love to return.

Heavenly! Rustic yet lovely, this home is perfectly located between the charming town of Fairhope with its amazing restaurants and the Gulf beaches. Sitting on the dock or the swing on the screen porch is so peaceful! We will return. Thank you so much.

My wife and I chose to stay at the "Last Shack" for our honeymoon. Its hard to put into words just how magical that little house truly is. From the moment we opened the door, it felt like staying at grandma's house. Everything was warm and cozy, and the push button stove, rocking chairs and porch swing really made it feel like staying with your grandma. If your grandma lived on the edge of the woods and edge of the bay, with her own private boat dock. We spent the first few days down at the gulf shores, only coming in at night to whind down watching a little netflix before bed. All conveniently within a 25 minute drive. On the third day, a pretty good storm hit the area so we chose just to stay in. Little did we know that was going to be one of the best days of our entire vacation. We spent most of the day cuddled up on the porch swing, just listening to it rain, enjoying all of the sounds of nature, and just enjoying one anothers company without all the stress of our normal everyday lives. It was the perfect lazy day, that ended with the storms tapering off with the sun coming out just in time to give us a beautiful sunset over the bay. The next morning, while enjoying our coffee on the porch, we see a fin go by the dock. Upon further inspection we find that you can see dolphins right from the dock! We had no idea! We decide to take advantage of having the dock and do some fishing. We caught several fish and crabs right from the dock! The fishing was great. We even managed to catch a couple frogs out in the yard. We watched several species of birds fishing in the bay. We couldnt believe just how much wild life there was in one little area. We paid for a dolphin cruise in the gulf, and saw just as many while staying at the house. Connie was an excellent host. Communication was easy and informative. The entire process was easy and convenient. The house itself is an absolute gem. Old school, real home feel to it, with all the modern conveniences you would come to expect. The bed we slept in was super comfy, with the perfect view of the bay. The front porch views are gorgeous. We could sit there all day just listening to the water, swinging on the porch swing. Its a super easy drive up to Mobile or down to Gulf Shores. 10/10 would recommend.
