Casa Serena is located in Colonnata, a typical Tuscan village surrounded by olive groves, a little higher than the city of Florence. From here begins the so-called "Panoramica Colli Alti" road that leads to the Etruscan city of Fiesole and along which you can admire a beautiful panorama of the city.
We are on the main street of the village, just in front of the characteristic square of the Church of San Romolo in Colonnata, where you can admire the porcelain altar made in 1783 by the Richard Ginori factory.

Everything is just a few steps away: the bus stop, the post office, the supermarket, the pizzeria, the bar-pastry shop and an excellent homemade ice-cream parlour. In fact, we are located in the main street of the village, exactly in front of the characteristic square of the Church of San Romolo a Colonnata, where you can admire the porcelain altar made in 1783 by the Richard Ginori factory.
To visit our beautiful region you are in the right place: the exit of the A1 motorway is only 4 km away and in 10 minutes you arrive at the airport of Peretola, in about 1 hour of motorway you can reach the sea, the famous resorts of Viareggio and Forte dei Marmi, while in 40 minutes you can reach the spa town of Montecatini Terme or the famous region of Chianti.
Easily reachable by car are the big shopping centre I Gigli, the new Designer Outlet of Barberino and the Bilancino Lake, equipped in summer with bar, sun beds, beach umbrellas and windsurf school.
From the flat you can take wonderful walks surrounded by a romantic atmosphere visiting the numerous villas that are just a few minutes walk away: Villa Villoresi, Villa Gerini, Villa Stanley, the Villa Medicea della Petraia and the Villa Medicea di Castello.
There are numerous paths through olive groves, dry stone walls and historic houses that lead to Monte Morello, while majestic plane trees and manicured lawns await you in the large park open to the public at Villa Solaria. It is also worth visiting the beautiful Ernesto Ragionieri Library, the Etruscan tombs of "La Montagnola" and "Mula" and, of course, the historic centre of Sesto Fiorentino, with its shops and streets closed to traffic.
To visit Florence, we recommend that you take the bus, car or walk to the Sesto Fiorentino train station and take the train, which will take you directly to the historic centre in just 10 minutes, quickly and without the hassle of city traffic. The train is available from Florence until late in the evening, for more information please consult the Trenitalia website.
The parking space is not included but you can usually find it under the house or in the nearby streets for free, we recommend to pay attention to the signs, Wednesday morning is street cleaning day.
We also recommend that you pay attention to some streets in the centre of Sesto Fiorentino that are closed to traffic a few days a week, as they are well signposted.
