Excellent holiday and stay at the cottage. Good driving distance from Snowdon and adventure activities such as mountain biking.
This was the second time I’d stayed at Afallon. It was just as enjoyable as last time. The house is tastefully decorated, well equipped and spotlessly clean. Lots of nice thoughtful little touches such as bread, jam, eggs and cake etc on arrival. I would recommend but I believe the property has been sold. Shame.
Such a beautiful little village. Lots of hiking on the doorstep and the beaches were breath taking! A wonderful trip.
It was great for what I needed. It also had good public transport links which suited me very well.
Llanbedr is located halfway between Harlech and Barmouth, not far from the foot of Mount Snowdon. Llanbedr is ideally situated in the Snowdonia National Park for exploring the great outdoors.
Llanbedr has a very special atmosphere, it is addictive and people return to experience it again and again. Llanbedr is a traditional welsh village, and with the River Artro meandering through the centre, and its busy local shops, popular pubs and restaurants, Llanbedr offers a wealth of memorable pleasures.
Llanbedr is a quieter village of Snowdonia without amusement parks or crowds of tourists. However, there are some local attractions worth exploring like the Shell Island, the Slate Caverns or the Maes Artro Heritage Museum.
From the village there are endless possibilities for walks from gentle strolls along our 2 beautiful rivers the Artro and the Nant Col or it is possible to walk straight into the mountains where you may only have the soaring buzzards for company. You can follow in the footsteps of ancient travellers on prehistoric roads, see burial chambers and standing stones.
A local bus service and train (station is a 10 minute walk) travel along the coast to Barmouth, Harlech and along the coast.
