This is a lovely place to stay. It was quiet (except for the occasional car/motor bike) and on a photogenic street. Clearly, there has been a lot of care gone into the renovation of this house and it presented beautifully. There's a great place for breakfast and other meals a short walk away (past the nearby temple/school). It's just 10 minutes from many tourist sites, as well as 5 minutes from the 2 main bus stops/train station so very convenient. We were 2 adults + 2 teenagers and there was plenty of room. We had a little trouble finding it. We arrived after dark and our tax brought us nearby but we couldn't find the building. Tip: have a look at the picture of what it looks like out the front (i.e white curtain with black writing). Be aware the stairs to the 2nd floor are steep. We all found the beds uncomfortable though and the sheets didn't tuck in well - and so we often ended up sleeping on a plastic-y mattress, with a hard pillow. Didn't ruin our stay but it did bother us a bit.

The house is ideally located near the Kiyomizudera, very peaceful and is in an old Kyoto house tastefully renovated. I highly recommend it.

Group of 5 of us enjoyed 清水’s place very much. We enjoyed the leisure space (tatami mat) and it was designed very well — sleeping rooms below and above. Slightly cold as the house is very big, but the aircon heater works fine. Steps to second floor is steep — was okay for those of us who could climb! Definitely recommend for groups of 5 or more as the space is big for hangouts.

Beautifully maintained and clean Airbnb in Kyoto. We enjoyed the separate rooms, extra toilet, and walkable location. I would definitely stay here again if given the chance. Caution: This place isn’t great for seniors or small children due to the steep stairs and big steps into any of the rooms downstairs.
