Wichita Villacres arrived in Aruba from the USA in 1981 falling in love with this paradise, she started a whole new life along with the inhabitants of this beautiful island. In December 2017, Wichita’s main corporate tourism business of 33 years had grown and she was starting to get restless, she was ready for semi-retirement while her daughter was taking over the business management. This became a reality when this beautiful property located in the heart of Aruba became available. Wichita was able to fulfill her dream of starting a small retreat for travelers interested in nature and conservation of island species such as the almost extinct “ Shokos “ (owls). Having travel extensively and having the tourism knowledge gave Wichita the initiative of wanting to provide a nature retreat with all the amenities of a 5-star resort. A special place, where guest could enjoy the breathtaking views, take long walks in the area, participate in yoga, health and wellness programs while finding the peace away from the sounds of the main tourism areas. Amongst many of the humanitarian projects Wichita has been involved with for the past 40 years in Aruba, and, in the fight for a clean environment and a greener world, she set out to include and prioritize at “Santa Lucia Landhuis & Cunucu" the 3-R’s. Re-duce, Re-use and Re-cycle. Little by little this nature location is becoming more known and seek for it’s beauty and natural habitat. Guests can also choose to stay at CasDiWichi, Wichita's charming and private Cunucu house, in a quiet residential neighborhood, off the high-rise resort area.
