We had a great time at Agriturismo Pilato! The Agriturismo is located in a beautiful and quiet location in the the Peloritani mountains surrounded by nature. We enjoyed a comfortable room, great hospitality and great food cooked by Mrs Teresa. surrounding the house there is a patio, a garden, a vegetable garden and grapes growing freely, which our kid enjoyed immensely. We stayed in the Pietrorussello (the main structure) in a room of 3. During the day we hiked to the neighbor's farm to see some farm animals and then down a lovely path to the river bed, where we just laid back and relaxed. The forest is abundant with walnut, chestnut and hazelnut trees. It took us around 40-45 minutes to get from Antillo to the Agriturismo, the last stretch was indeed unpaved, however we passed it with a regular cross-over vehicle (VW T-Cross, not 4*4). On the way to the house (~15 minutes before) there is a small stream and bridge, where we stopped to dip our feet. I would recommend the place for people who appreciate nature and quiet, that are not afraid of going *slightly* "off the beaten path" and appreciate warm, homey hospitality. For people who plan to dine at the main structure and who don't have a 4*4 vehicle, I personally would suggest to consider staying at the main house (Pietrorussello), as we felt the road between Casa Pilato and the house would be difficult to drive after dark. I must say, that after realizing this might be an issue, Elvira accommodated our request to move to the main house kindly and quickly. All-in-all a great and unique experience, bring a good book and enjoy =)

Le case si trovano in un luogo meraviglioso in mezzo al nulla! Se siete in cerca di qualche giorno di relax, completamente staccati dal caos cittadino, difficilmente troverete mai luogo migliore. L'agriturismo si trova a circa mezz'ora da Antillo (gia' paese minuscolo inerpicato sui monti) per una stradina di campagna, montagna e infine sterrato (agibile con una macchina, preferibilmente alta, o per una moto adatta a un minimo di fuoristrada, anche se comunque moderatamente impegnativo soprattutto se siete carichi). Le signore che lo gestiscono sono gentilissime, e preparano dei pasti meravigliosi usando solo prodotti del luogo stesso. Le case sono spartane ma ben attrrezzate, immerse nel verde. La temperatura in piena estate, mentre nel resto della Sicilia rasentava i 40, e' sempre rimasta tra i 20-25, semplicemente perfetta. Il cellulare non ha segnale, ma se avete bisogno di internet per lavorare soprendentemente la connessione satellitare si difende. Se cio' che cercate e' quiete e natura splendida raramente troverete qualcosa di meglio, solo venite attrezzati e tenete conto che ogni passaggio al paese e' letteralmente un viaggio.
