We hebben een geweldig verblijf gehad bij John en Isobel. Allereerst de bijzondere kamer met de meest fantastische meubels (het bed!). Brandschoon, alles aanwezig en erg gezellig. Je bent met 10 min lopen in Oxford, in 20 min in Oxford centrum, maar toch waan je je op het platteland. Perfect dus! John en Isobel zijn fantastische hosts. Heel gastvrij en ze geven veel goede tips om te doen in de omgeving. Ons verblijf was nu te kort, we komen zeker nog eens terug!

I will certainly stay again if I'm in Oxford, it was ideal , 15 minutes on my bike or a 30 minute walk but very quiet and peaceful too.

Had a great few days at John and Isobel’s. Oxford centre was around a 20-25 walk, with John giving clear directions and a map - it is a pleasant walk through fields (we even saw a little deer - a Muntjac I think) Accommodation was great (very comfy bed), breakfast was provided and also gave the opportunity to chat to welcoming hosts and other guests. Would definitely return if visiting the area again!

We had the most perfect two night stay with John, Isobel and Caspar. Shame it was only two nights. Beautiful location and lovely walk into Oxford. Loved the Emperors Retreat and what John and Isobel have achieved through the wonderful renovation of the old pub. Such friendly and welcoming hosts and of course Caspar was a highlight for us. Absolutely perfect for our stay in Oxford. Thank you John, Isobel and Caspar.

My stay at John and Isobel's place exceeded my expectations. They are warm and caring hosts who make the place feel like a home away from home. More than this, they go out of their way to ensure the room is set up beautifully down to small details like teas, coffee and torch and that they are around if you need anything! It was the perfect stay for my work there and the property itself and the surroundings are stunning. I used to look forward to coming back every day I was there and hope to return again.
