Located in the interesting Raval, part of the old city center. The neighbourhood has plenty of bars, restaurants, boutiques, the colourful Boqueria market, the contemporary art museum and many more interesting venues. It is a lively multicultural part of the city center.
It is a 20 min. walk from the beach or the parks on Montjuïc.
It is though very important to know that the Raval is a lively, multicultural neighbourhood, with many emigrants from Asia and North Africa. Due to the lower rents and the centric location it is also popular with foreign students or young people staying in Barcelona for a period. This has changed a bit during the pandemic with its travel limitations. It is advisable to take care everywhere in Barcelona, certainly in the old center, and even more in el Raval when you would go out late at night. If you are not used to living in a multicultural neighbourhood or easily feel unsafe, you might consider a place in the new part of Barcelona.
