The home sits on a very large property where guests can enjoy the yard as well as the private dock. One of the fun parts of being on Crooked River is not only its provided boat access to the larger lakes, but also the fact that it allows guests to interact with boaters as they pass by at idle speed. This part of the Crooked River is no wake, adding to the peaceful nature of the property. The interior reflects the exterior feel of the cabin. Each of the three floors in the home have access to a deck. Three of the four rooms have their own, private deck overlooking the property and the river. It's definitely a cabin that you want to experience all year round! The main level features a Kitchen and Dining area. The second and third floors have 4 of the 5 bedrooms. The basement is the 5th bedroom / bunkroom. The bunkroom is an awesome space for the little ones in your group! It features 3 rustic log bunk beds, a TV area with sofa to hook up gaming consoles or watch movies and a retro style sit down video game console system with hundreds of pre-loaded retro games such as Pacman. The bunk room also has its own private bathroom attached. Over the holidays Bear Cabin is transformed for Guests to experience a true upnorth Cabin Christmas. There are multiple Christmas trees on each level with unique decorations. In addition, the decor becomes full Classic Cabin Christmas. There is nothing like spending the winter nights in front of the fire at Bear Cabin during the holiday season! Outdoors the yard is a huge space to play with some of included yard games. There is a large firepit with chairs. Firewood is available for purchase on site for added conveinence. The large dock allows guests sit directly over the water and watch the boats as they pass. The dock also provides a space to tie up boats to access the area lakes. The entire property is a unique park like setting, with several flower beds and landscaping all around that flows with the natural wooded surroundings. Bear Cabin is centrally located to the best of what "Up North" Michigan has to offer. Crooked River is one of the main connecting bodies of water in the famed Inland Waterway. The interconnected inland lakes and rivers provide over 40,000 acres of inland protected waterways. The lakes allow boaters the ability to explore many different areas all within the relatively calm waters that inland lakes provide. For those that want to expore by vehicle, some of the most popular towns in all of Michigan are a short drive away. Many guests make the 30 minute drive to Mackinaw City to take a ferry over to the world famous Mackinaw Island!
