The room is neither spacious, nor near the city centre nor in the bungalow. It is in a converted garage attached to the house. Host wants you to check in with a key box even though she is there so it feels unwelcoming. Room is cold and uncomfortable, not homely. Hard laminate floor, no rugs, no bed side table, bright ceiling lights which dazzle the eyes, nowhere to sit apart from a hard uncomfortable office chair. Hard bed. It felt like a prison cell. Shower room is next door opposite a sliding door to their kitchen which could be opened at any time by them so no privacy. To access the shower you would need to leave your door unlocked so there is little security either. Worst of all was the MOUSE bait box in the corner of the room. I could not stay there and had to find somewhere else to move to but she would not assure me I would get my money back. She took so long to get back to me I missed the last bus into town and had to take a taxi late at night. Frightening. Horrible.

Anna's place was good. It was clean, as shown in the pictures. The locality is peaceful, the bus stop is nearby, and the place is easy to commute to. Anna and her family were very welcoming. As a person coming for the first time to the UK, they gave me good suggestions and were very helpful.

My stay at Anna’s house was very nice. The room and the private bathroom were perfect for a few days in the city. Anna’s family was so welcoming. It was so easy communicating with Anna, she answered to my different enquires so quickly ! Would definitely recommend if you need a place to stay in Edinburgh. The beach is close too.
