If I could give this place and the host ten stars I would. The pictures do not do this place justice and the pictures are amazing. The views were incredible, the property was so spacious and beautiful for a family of 9, they deliver food if you need them, great recommendations on restaurants, they set up transportation, very responsive, and I could go on and on. Alex and Tatiana were amazing. We felt like we were in a dream. Bravo!

I mean, the views. Everyone raves about the views here and it's so true. Located at the end of a windy street, you come to the end of the road and there is this beautiful villa. It feels like you're at the end of the world. People stop in front just to admire it and the sunsets that come with it. The villa feels like you're sleeping in a museum of sorts. If you're looking for modern, this isn't the place for you. But, if you want something with character that makes you feel like you've traveled, then a stay at Villa Murat is the place to be. We could have stared at the painted ceilings for hours, but there were beach clubs to visit (Capitan Cook is amazing and super close) and swimming to be done! There is no air conditioning, which was a bit of a downer. We were unlucky with 90+ degree temps, so at night it got a bit stuffy, but nothing unbearable. There are fans, which we used quite religiously, needless to say! The gardens go on for days and our children got lost in a dream world exploring and playing make believe amongst the terraces. Alex, the grounds keeper, was wonderful with helping us with most everything. He helped bring in the goodies we picked up in Sorrento and beyond, we had a bit of a problem with ants sneaking into our room and they quickly dealt with it. There is lovely housekeeper who comes every day, which is a requirement for us. Who wants to clean when you're on holiday? With the hot days, it was glorious going for a swim in the pool. Afterwards, we would pick figs straight from the trees on property with Alex. Gianluca, our host, was amazing. He was a personal concierge, making restaurant reservations, arranging taxis and activities, delivering whatever we needed. We were in good hands and felt very pampered! The town is very quiet. A church and an amazing restaurant called La Torre that we visited three times in our one week stay. We even picked up food one night when we wanted to enjoy the villa and didn't want to cook. Besides, their food is much better than anything I would cook! It's very popular, so make sure you organize ahead of time. We also did a morning hike down to the marina, which is a lovely. We passed through lemon groves and olive trees. The marina is a sleepy little place. Felt very local. The whole area feels local, which is wonderful. At the end of the walk down, we treated ourselves to a cold coffee at the cafe. There are a few restaurants down there, which we will have to try the next time. We left a little over a week ago and thinking about it is making me nostalgic and ready to return!
