I would advise against selecting this cottage for a peaceful retreat, as the disruptive neighbours on the right-hand side, significantly detract from what could have been a delightful stay in the picturesque countryside of the West Mendips. The troubles began on the first night around 11 o'clock, with a heated argument that escalated into loud screams and shouts lasting well past midnight. The situation further deteriorated with the introduction of blaring music, boisterous singing, and another intense dispute, culminating in a car arriving after 3 o'clock to remove one of the individuals involved. Despite my communication with the owner, Harry, who expressed apologies and pledged to address the disturbances, the lack of consideration from the neighbours remained disheartening. In conclusion, while the picturesque surroundings hold promise for a pleasant stay, the disruptive neighbours currently overshadow this potential. Resolving these issues are essential.

We booked this cottage based on the positive reviews but to be honest we have found the cottage completely different to the reviews. When we arrived we noted the cottage was not clean. It smelt musty and damp. There are a number of cobwebs and spiders, the oven held dirty fatty trays that had not been cleaned. Dirty filthy oven gloves and tea towels. The bedrooms also had smelly unwashed bedding that smelt of body odour and arm pits from the last guests. The oven has no instructions and dials do not show any hint of numbers so it's impossible to work out the temperature that you need. In all due respect, we did notify the owner that we had dirty bedding and the kitchen was dirty and they came straight out to change the beds and dispose of the dirty oven trays, but there are still cobwebs and thick dust in the main room. The sofa is also not fit for purpose. I was planning on a relaxed few days away but it's not been the case. Feeling very disappointed with my stay at this property.

We felt right at home in this lovely cottage with a beautiful view. Harry went the extra mile to make sure we got some clothes (that we had forgotten in the cottage) back on time. We really enjoyed our stay and would go back any time.

The cottage was as described, "Quaint and Quirky"; it had plenty of utensils in the kitchen all very clean. The bathroom was good with lots of hot water and the central heating was excellent making the home a very cosy place to live in. The parking space adjacent to the cottage was more than adequate. Wonderful views over the levels. Thanks Harry & Millie
