I’m writing this review because Edda deserves it, even though I wanted to try to keep this place a secret! It’s beautiful! We l led every minute of being there and agreed that in all our travels we’ve never felt more at home than here. The amenities were great. The view was unbelievable, especially the Northern lights a couple of nights we were there! Our daughters loved the horses on property! Each night except two we spent in the hot pool enjoying the warm water and relaxing views! Edda was very responsive. We love to learn about what local families/people do, places to go, and recipes to cook at home. Edda answered questions for us and was always willing to share information! We were welcomed by a beautiful book about the home and its history…we couldn’t read it but got the gist by looking through the photos! We were also gifted some Icelandic treats and beverages. They were delicious and felt that was a thoughtful touch! We prefer calm settings, and this was perfect!

Beautiful house with amazing views. From the geothermal hot tub where we could watch the Northern lights to the Icelandic horses we could pet in the backyard, to the fully stocked kitchen, this place made our trip wonderful. We stayed for one week with 4 adults and 3 kids. Edda was very accommodating and had great communications throughout. We had thought there was 1.5 baths but there was only one for the 7 of us. The wood stove and large supply of dry firewood kept us toasty each night as we nibbled on the Icelandic chocolates Edda provided as a welcome gift. The beds were comfy and had the fluffiest down comforters to keep us warm. The whole house is beautifully decorated, with lovely dishes, stylish furnishings, and bathrobes. The house is an easy 15 min drive to Selfoss where we could stock up on groceries and liquor (try the Bjork birch liquor!). There were some cute boutiques and restaurants there too, including Selfoss food hall and Kaffi Kraus. Didn’t want to leave.

Bonjour, nous avons séjourné à deux familles dans la maison pour passer le nouvel an en Islande. La maison est chaleureuse, avec un environnement magnifique. Très bien située pour toutes les choses à voir / à faire entre Vik et Reykjavik ! Très bonne communication avec Edda. Je recommande 👍🏻

Thank you for sharing your wonderful house! Everything was perfect. The house is super cosy and absolutely beautiful. Well equipped kitchen with everything you need. Also, around the house, just everything you need is already there. The pool and the northern lights made the stay a 11 out of 10.
