Welcome to our mountain home! We split our time between Texas and Alabama and absolutely love living in this peaceful community half of the year. Watch the armadillos, rabbits and the resident turtle enjoy the large yard through the floor to ceiling windows in the living room. Sleep late in one of the two king size beds or get cozy on the full size futon in the office. Cook in the fully equipped kitchen or order in. This is the perfect place to gather with family, relax and reconnect. Built in the 1960s, this home was cared for deeply by the two families who owned it before us. We have updated the kitchen and created a large open gathering space in the living room with plenty of room to relax after a long day of hiking at nearby Monte Sano State Park. The decorative fireplace is aesthetically pleasing but not functional. The home's HVAC keeps guests warm in the winter and cool in the summer. There are two king bedrooms, one with a Sealy memory foam mattress and one with a Purple mattress. The third bedroom is often used as an office and houses a full size futon bed as well. The closets in all of the rooms are mostly original, as are the 1 and 3/4 baths. The yard is shaded by two large tulip poplars and is a peaceful gathering space using the outdoor chairs provided. There is also seating on both the front and back porches. Monte Sano is a very quiet residential community and we ask that our guests respect this fact and not disrupt others. This means no loud music, no rowdiness outside after dark, and absolutely no parties. There is a locked door in the foyer that leads to the garage on the lower level. This area is used as storage by the homeowners and is not included in the rental.
