Endroit idyllique et calme ; la vue y est splendide ! Idéal pour une grande famille. Il n’a manqué de rien, tout était bien organisé et Ismene était toujours très disponible. Vaisselle en suffisance. Casseroles en suffisance. Matériel électrique fonctionnant bien. Lave-vaisselle fonctionnel et très confortable pour 14 personnes ! Barbecue à disposition. Sur Sifnos, rien n’est jamais très loin, et donc nous avons pu à la fois profiter de la maison et découvrir beaucoup d’endroits magnifiques de l’île à notre aise alors que nous y sommes restés seulement 4 jours. Si l’occasion se présente, nous reviendrons :-)
Ismene is a wonderful host and her place is incredible. It’s so peaceful, close to the sea, walking distance from the nearest town, and has everything you need. Ismene is kind and very attentive to make sure you have everything you need. I hope I can return very soon.
Ismene’s home is in a stunning location, surrounded by lemon trees and gardens on three sides, with a sparkling, wide-open view of the sea. It’s relatively isolated, down a rocky, winding private road, so it’s truly peaceful. There’s a beautiful walking path from the house through olive groves looking over the water. We went last minute, in the dead of winter, at a time Ismene wasn’t expecting guests; she kindly accommodated us anyhow. We imagine that, in summer, the home is much more ready to welcome guests. The house is quirky and spacious, with new linens and towels, expansive views of the sea and fields, terraces in every room, and a perfect, sunny patio out front, bordered by pink bougainvillea, overlooking the water and lush grounds. We had breakfast there every morning; you could easily have all your meals there in summer. You’ll be surrounded by bird song, blue sky, a warm breeze, and peace. (Tip: Ask Ismene to drop you a pin; your phone’s map otherwise has a really hard time.)
There is no place quite like Ismene’s house in Sifnos. The house itself have a beautiful greek charm, with lots of different enclaves to sit and relax, and the views are their own kind of magic. After a long day of work video calls and app development (which the Wi-Fi at Ismene’s place handled perfectly), I could think of no better place to explore the island from. Ismene was very helpful and gave excellent suggestions for everything I needed throughout my time in Sifnos.

I come from Athens and live in Thessaloniki, in Northern Greece. I have studied Greek and English Language and Literature, History, Drama, Music, Social Anthropology and Ceramics in Greece and in the U.K. I work as a highschool teacher at an Experimental School. I speak greek, english, some french and basic german. I love hosting people from all over the world and helping them make the most of Sifnos. What makes my home unique is its’ location.
