We had a wonderful stay. The surroundings are beautiful and there is plenty of walking and exploring to do straight from the lodge. Michaal had informed us ahead of time to bring food to cook so we were prepared. The lodge caretaker was very kind and helpful and guided us on multiple walks during the stay. They were both also very helpful and proactive when we needed a pharmacy. The lodge is simple but well equipped and makes for a great get away or base for hiking.

We absolutely loved our stay at Deep Valley Lodge. Micheal the host was exceedingly helpful, he organised a fishing license for me which I wouldn’t have had a clue how to organise myself! The other Micheal (caretaker) and Patrick who are around on site are both very friendly and also extremely helpful. They cut down some of the lower branches of the pine trees in front of the house upon our request so that there are now stunning views across The Valley from the veranda. The river is stunning and there is good walking into the Aberdare Forest nearby, although bear in mind that you need to hire two armed rangers to escort you in the forest for a total of 3000 kes for one day. Overall an absolutely fantastic Airbnb, We ended up extending our stay because we loved it so much!

My family and I had an amazing stay at the Deep Valley Lodge. The location was perfect - nestled in a quiet neighborhood, right next to the river and full of lush greenery. The space itself was clean, and had all the amenities we needed. But what really made the trip special was the host. Michael went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time, providing recommendations for things to do and making sure our stay was peachy. I can't recommend this Airbnb enough - it was the perfect blend of comfort and adventure. Five stars all around!

I loved how the house had so much warmth yet Tuthu area is such a cold place. Being a very hilly place, we had an excellent and splendid view of the tea plantations and a flowing river that was close by. I cannot fail to mention how hospitable Michael was. We found a clean house with everything that is needed and Michael was so wonderful because upon request, he would provide anything else we asked for. We also got an awesome caretaker, Mzee Waweru. He was so respectful and most of all, wise. He shared so much of Tuthu's history with us. He also gave us a very educational tour. It's amazing how a rich history Tuthu has. This is a place I plan to bring my dad. The cabin was so warm, at such a beautiful place, with a SPLENDID HOST, an amazing caretaker and an amazing ambience.
