Such a perfect place to stay on beautiful Smith Lake.

Resplendent. Opulent. Ethereal. Majestic. Tranquil. I literally could go on and on with adjectives describing the sheer beauty of this very special place. This cabin is perched atop a picturesque rock outcropping - very careful detail was taken to build the cabin into the landscape… as if it has always been there. The views of the lake from the upper and lower wrap around decks are simply gorgeous. While the walk down to the two story dock requires a few steps, it’s totally worth it. I felt like we were exploring all sorts of brilliant scenes in nature; the rocks are very cave like. Truly, finding words to describe the sheer beauty of the landscape is futile. Once your on the dock, there are two levels to enjoy. They owners have a big fridge to keep drinks/snacks/lunch cool, which is a nice touch. There is plenty of space to lounge in the sun and shade, too. And the kayaks/canoe/SUPs make for an awesome way to share laughs with family/friends as you explore the shoreline. At some point, you’ll make your way inside the cabin and all I can say is that there wasn’t any detail that wasn’t carefully considered. From the architectural nods (which are numerous) to the simple but warm high end finishes, you’ll feel cozy right away. The kids enjoyed the bunk loft for sure and we had epic pool games downstairs well into the nights. Our host couldn’t have been more kind to us. They were just so accommodating and friendly! The communication was great on their part - very fast responses to a couple of questions we had over our stay. Clearly, they thought of every small detail to make our stay a perfect one. Just perfect. I think it’s obvious I recommend booking a stay here….. BIG time.

The house is perched high above Smith Lake, with absolutely fantastic views (from both inside and outside the house) of a relatively undeveloped part of the lake. As noted in the description, access to the private dock requires descending (and later climbing) lots of stairs -- approximately 130 steps by my count -- but even those in my party who were initially hesitant ended up viewing the stairs as very manageable and even enjoyable. The stairs are an engineering marvel, built into the cliff in a very professional and well-maintained manner, with numerous landings and benches for those who want to take their time. The two-level private dock is a great plus, providing a beautiful place to relax or, for those so inclined, to head out on the water using the canoe and the two 2-person kayaks that were included with the rental. We visited in late December with a nice patch of warm weather (in the 60s), and it seemed like we were the only ones out on the lake. The house itself is very well-maintained and clean, with a modern decor. We made sure to stock up on food before we arrived, as there are no supermarkets in the immediate area (driving from the south, we used the Piggly Wiggly in Warrior, about 40 minutes away). The kitchen is modest sized, but has modern appliances and all the basics we needed for cooking and reheating things (it also has a stocked Keurig coffeemaker, although we didn't use it). The two master bedrooms (each with a king bed) on the main floor were a big plus (given that my brother and sister-in-law joined my family for the trip). In that regard, it's a great house for two families to vacation together. The one caveat is that the bedroom on the top floor, with 3 bunk beds sleeping 6, is accessible only via a ladder. That bedroom would be a great place for a bunch of young cousins to sleep, provided they are old enough to ascend and descend the ladder (there is no bathroom on that top floor, so middle-of-the night use of the ladder might be required). Everyone in my group thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and we would absolutely stay here again if we ever come back this way.

Absolutely amazing I’m so many ways it would take too long to type out!! Just incredible and we can’t wait to get back there!
