Walkable: Safeway and plenty of restaurants are walking distance, Coconut marketplace is also not far away to walk to. There are some beaches nearby, but they might not be as nice as those 5-10 minutes away driving, like Lydgate. The place feels a tad old-ish but it has well equipped renovated kitchen; some beach furniture there as well. The neighbors are nice! If you travel with a baby ask them to set up everything in advance and make sure the high chair is clean. No A/C and paid laundry is not a big deal, so don't get scared off with that.

We had an upstairs apartment. The access was easy, using a code to enter which made it easy for us all. The space felt clean, welcoming, and well supplied. The kitchen had everything! Great to have two bathrooms. Lots of great towels and beach towels. We stayed with four people and it felt spacious. All in all it was generously supplied and well equipped. There were no cockroaches or any other bugs which is amazing in a subtropical environment. Do know that there are roosters that crow in the night. A concrete path leads to a beautiful beach facing east where you can greet the sunrise every day and watch whales in the distance breaching. A useful map of the island is mounted on the fridge. We were thankful for the glass pyrex to store left overs. All the pans and pots where in great shape. A fan was supplied for every room. Great location if you want easy access to healthy local groceries. (Walk or drive to Papaya’s or drive to Hoku Natural Foods. Safeway is walking distance too.)

We had a great trip to Kauai and had a comfortable clean place to stay, which is super walkable for any of the things we needed and also just to go for an adventure. We loved it! The washing machine is super handy and the go cups in the cabinet where a nice touch. The view from the patio was great and we enjoyed many early mornings drinking coffee and watching the chickens!
