Beachcomber Lodge has uninterrupted views over Southerness beach and the Solway Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. This little slice of heaven makes the perfect spot to sit back, relax and enjoy a family holiday by the coast. This wonderful lodge is spacious with an open plan living space with patio doors onto a veranda , so even on a rainy day you can make the most of the views. Sleeping 6, it has 3 bedrooms, and an open plan living area with a veranda and outdoor furniture. The bedrooms include a master suite with a king size bed and a walk in wardrobe leading to an ensuite shower room. There are 2 further bedrooms with twin beds in each and a family shower room. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need for self-catering including a full cooker, a washer/dryer, fridge and freezer, dishwasher and microwave. Towels and bedlinen are provided and the beds made ready for your arrival.

Good points - location and views great (pity it rained a lot of the time!) Spacious living area and bedrooms. Great place to chill out with views of the sea. Bad points - considering there's a £50 "cleaning" fee, there were crumbs in the fridge, toast crumbs on top of the toaster and pubic hair in the shower. Also had to wash the oven trays before I used them as they just seemed "grubby"
Lodge was amazing. Location fab. Gift basket was superb only negative is the lack of WI-FI which is essential nowadays. Overall excellent stay Many thanks
Good break away with stunning views from lodge. Short walking distance to the beach which was great for us and our dog. We had a peaceful & relaxing time at the lodge and overall we were happy with our stay.
Lovely lodge right on the beach, gorgeous views.. great for watching sunrise & sunset 😍 Lindsay left doggy treats & cake what more could we ask for! Lots to do on the site..
Excellent and comfortable fully equipped lodge with outstanding views over the Solway Firth. Great for quiet family get away and access to the beach. Only let down slightly by lack of Wi-Fi.

The coastal village of Southerness has undoubtedly some of the most outstanding views of the Solway Firth, and even stretches over to the Lake District in Cumbria. Explore the beach and striking white lighthouse, originally built in 1749, or why not challenge yourself on the nearby championship golf course? From Beachcomber Lodge you have an ideal base in which to explore beautiful Dumfries and Galloway from its beaches and coves to cliff top walks and forest trails. With countless historic sites throughout the region and many fun-filled activities to be had, there will surely be something to suit everyone. Beach 20 yards. Shop (seasonal), pub and restaurant 400 yards.
A car is s necessity for convenience. There are buses from Southerness to Dumfries and in the other direction to Dalbeattie.
