We only stayed with Luis for 2 nights, but we had a great time. The yard is essentially a small bird sanctuary, and I thoroughly enjoyed watching the 20+ species of birds going about their business. We were able to add breakfast in the morning for a small fee, and it was delicious and relaxed. We also hired Luis to take us on an excursion, and had the pleasure of swimming in amazing cenotes, walking through a ruined hacienda, and eating a delicious local lunch. All in all a very pleasant stay.. and the most comfortable bed of our whole trip!

We stayed with Luis at the end of a 3 week trip and it was the perfect way to finish our time in Mexico! Equal parts relaxing in the beautiful gardens Luis has cultivated and seeing the local sights with Luis as our expert guide. Haciendas and practically private cenotes galore. They provided food and really looked after us as much or as little as we wanted, and even picked us up and dropped us off at the Mérida ADO station. Couldn’t recommend Casa Cha’ak enough!

I want to thank Luis and Laura for such a magical experience at Casa Cha’ak. The house was perfect — clean, comfortable, peaceful, and beautiful. Perfect for a couple or small group of friends to get away. The town is small and inviting, everyone knows when Luis has a guest! It seems like the whole town rallied to fulfill a few of my special requests. Incredible. Luis and Laura were accommodating and flexible to the extreme. We did not have to worry about a thing! We made plans for the day during breakfast each morning. Luis has an endless list of activities to choose from!! I think the best thing about our trip was Luis’ knowledge and passion for Nature and History. This trip was my 40th Birthday trip. I was able to mark TWO things off my bucket list because of Luis. I am already planning my next visit. This gem is a MUST for any nature lover or conservationist.

Good location for visiting the Mayapan Ruins and lots of nearby cenotes. We stayed three nights and were able to relax and enjoy the pueblo’s Sunday market, church service and soccer match. Luis was very attentive and full of information and suggestions for everything. He is tremendously knowledgeable about the area and steered us to unique opportunities and locations. The staff took great care of us and were friendly and always there to help. We really enjoyed our stay at Seye.
