We had a fantastic experience staying at the Severn cottage. It was super-clean with a modern bathroom and a well equipped kitchen. Loved the enclosed Sunroom overlooking the river. Also a nice deck and an amazing firepit with a lot of room around it. We made use of the supplied canoes and kayaks complete with oars and life jackets. This section of the river has a low speed limit for boaters, which makes for calm waters perfect for kayaking. Store and restaurant are walking distance. There is also a Foodland in Coldwater; 20 minutes drive. Esther checked in with us several times during our stay to make sure we had everything we needed and that all was well. Overall: 5 Stars.

Cottage was clean and well appointed. Check in was easy. Water was weedy, but we went to another beach to swim. Families from other cabins were using the dock and beach area a lot of the time, but it wasn’t a big deal. Nothing to do in the immediate area if that’s what you’re looking for. Good overall. Esther was an excellent host.

We had a lot of fun on our 1st ever family cottage weekend as a family of 6 - 2 adults and 4 kids aged 5-13. We brought our two golden retrievers. Our kids really enjoyed the cottage, from using the provided kayaks and boats, swimming in the water (shallow by the docks - drops further out) and enjoying the cottage and its amenities. The dogs loved the water too. Definitely something we will do again. Esther was very attentive in ensuring our needs were met. There was a lot of basics in the cottage we were happy to find throughout our stay. Each cottage there had many perks and minimal disadvantages, but definitely a great spot if you can plan an extended family vacation or trip with friends. We may be biased but we really enjoyed the sun porch and covered deck on the Severn but the view and deeper dock water on the Muskoka may still sway us for our next visit
