It was such a lovely vacation! Lorna was very response to anything we needed. The view was amazing from the deck and bedrooms. There is nothing better than family and waking up right on the beach. Thank you so much for sharing your lovely home!

Wonderful location for a beach house vacation!! This is my family’s thirteenth year renting a beach house in South County, and all agreed it was the best experience by far!

What a great location— right on the beach! The cottage is very open with lots of windows, lots of light, and beautiful views of the beach. Listening to the waves breaking on shore at night is the best! The west side of the cottage is a separate “apartment” so it worked for our combined family. Lorna is very accommodating and happy to help in any way she can. On arrival we found fresh flowers and a blueberry bread loaf! There is a roomy outdoor shower and plenty of beach chairs and boogie boards. The deck overlooking the beach has table and chairs, umbrellas and cushions for a family meal without sand in your sandwich. Lots of ceiling fans are enough because there is no A/C. There is a dryer but no washing machine which was fine for us. Living at the beach anywhere is a constant battle to keep the sand from coming inside and this is no exception. We found that taking extra care to get sand off of feet and legs and out of swim suits while outside makes it much more pleasant when inside! I recommend contacting Lorna ahead of time to get any questions answered. There are some amenities still listed that aren’t there (like the washing machine) and some that are there but not listed. I think she’s trying to get that fixed. All in all, we would definitely go back.

Overall the stay at Seaside was okay. On the plus side, the location is phenomenal. Right on the water with a nice private beach right in front. You can hear the waves from inside the house, which is exactly what I was going for when I booked it. The house itself is just okay and overpriced for what you are getting. For one, it’s just not very clean - cabinets are sticky, linens musty, crevices sandy. I brought in my own cleaners to get things ship shape, but they could only do so much. Also, things in the house just not kept up - drawers and windows don’t open (a window fell out even), deck umbrella broken, grill not fully functional. The house is for sale, and presumably the owner is over fixing things in the home. I will say she was responsive when I got in touch with her (water tank needed refilling, electrical problem required attention). There is also a skunk problem on the beach at night - I don’t know that the owner can control this, but renters beware! Also, while this was disclosed prior, you are required to bring linens and paper goods - fine, but at this price point I think a linen service and toilet paper should be included. Overall, we had a nice time, despite subpar amenities because the location is so outstanding, but for this price, there are plenty of better kept homes in the area or try Ocean House.
