Chris's place is great. In case you haven't been here before, Yakutat in general isn't a shining resort or lodge location with manicured grounds and luxury touches. It's more about gravel roads and good fishing. To me, a great place here is about a friendly, helpful host who provides a clean and functional place to stay. Not only does Chris provide a clean and functional place to stay but he's friendly and can help provide guidance and help on the many logistical issues you have to deal with on a remote fishing trip. He's open handed with his place, parking and even tools in a pinch and we have been in a pinch more than once in Yakutat. It seems like after years of dealing with migratory fisherman coming and going in Yakutat, some folks can get a bit hardened to the needs of the visiting fisherman. Chris isn't like that.

Chris lives on the first floor and has two units on the second - this is the smaller of the two. He picked us up at the airport and dropped us off when it was time to leave. Great service at a great price.

Host is great! Location is great! Washer and dryer are a nice bonus. We like being able to prepare our own food while on vacation. Our phone carrier did not work in Yakutat, but thanks to the internet access at this location, we were able to communicate with our family while at the apartment via email, some texts, and marco polo...what a blessing! Will definitely stay here again!
