Balenbouche Estate is a renowned guesthouse, organic farm, heritage site and family home. The 70-acre grounds feature a plantation house, yoga barn, and 18th-century sugar mill surrounded by ancient trees, pastures, and wild beaches. Dining, massages and tours are available. The pitons, hot springs and waterfalls are a short drive away. All our eco-friendly cottages (Waterlily, Banyan, Almond, Frangipani, Calabash and Moringa) are built without screens and cooled by the tropical breeze. The Moringa House offers two studio apartments (upper floor and lower floor) which can be booked separately or together, and is ideal for families with older children or friends traveling together. Each apartment offers a king-sized bed, bathroom, kitchen and seating area. If you prefer not to cook, we also offer meals at the plantation house on our beautiful veranda or served to you at your cottage.The downstairs has an additional single bed, and a larger kitchen, as well as an outdoor shower. The upstairs has a smaller kitchen but an additional private veranda with memorable sunset views.

If St Lucia is Paradise on Earth then Balembouche is Heaven in a home! This little gem of nature is such a rejuvenating escape, unleashed your inner child just exploring the grounds alone. The villa was a stunning oasis and designed by Uta herself! Uta and her daughters we're so helpful and accomodating, yoga in the barn, meals at the main house, waking up to birds on the deck, our driver Shem was incredible, and we even had Bibiana a fabulous local masseuse came to our villa. Please respect the history of the land - a former plantation - and St Lucia itself (colonized 12 times) and marvel at all the stories and wildlife that has reigned before the gorgeous surroundings we find now!!

Two private beaches adjoining the property are just a short walk away. Massages and guided tours offered on site. Street food, a beach bar, fruit and vegetable stand and convenience store are a 10 minute walk away in the village of Piaye. Several small restaurants in Laborie are an 8 minute drive away. A supermarket is a 5 minute drive away, and many of the islands best attractions and beaches near Soufriere are just a 15-30 minute drive away.
We can arrange an airport transfer for US$ 40. We recommend renting a car for at least a few days, which can be delivered. If you prefer not to drive, we can arrange guided tours with one of our taxi drivers. You can also catch a local bus at the end of our driveway - they operate between towns from 6 am - 6 pm every day except Sundays and holidays. The average wait time is 20 minutes, and you can get on and off anywhere along the road.

自我介绍
I have lived in St Lucia for over 35 years, after having grown up in Austria and Germany, and traveled throughout Asia and Europe. Balenbouche Estate was a struggling historic plantation when I first came to the island. My background in architecture and interior design, my experience living in other cultures and simple, rural conditions, prepared me for this challenge. Gradually over time, together with my two daughters Verena and Anitanja, I created a small eco lodge, heritage site and retreat center. Today, Balenbouche is a natural, historic, rustic and down to earth place, where people are able to reflect, reconnect and slow down. Over the years, our family has welcomed many wonderful guests from around the world many of which have become part of a Balenbouche community of friends, supporters and repeat guests. As the caretaker of this special place, it gives me great joy to share its beauty with all those who appreciate it.
