As already mentioned, Bufalini Apartments' strong point lies in its location, right in Florence downtown, with all highlights just a few steps away - that makes it not only a great base for exploring the city, but also a convenient spot for relaxing between a museum and a church or for dropping off your shopping before enjoying a drink or a gelato in one of the city's piazzas.
All around you will find several restaurants and pizzerias, as well as pubs and bars to enjoy a drink and/or some nightlife, to make the most of the Florentine experience. Even the Central Market, with its vast food and wine selection to choose from, is close by. And two supermarkets are just around the corner, if you like to cook your own food.

Bufalini Apartments are located at no. 11-13, Via Bufalini.
Thanks to their central location, it is generally not necessary to use any public transport to visit the city and its monuments, as they are all within walking distance. In any case, many bus lines stop in Piazza San Marco and lead to Fiesole, Settignano and Piazzale Michelangelo, while from the train station one can take the tramway.
To reach the Apartments from Santa Maria Novella RAILWAY STATION, you can either take a taxi (around 15 €uros, readily available at the station exit) or, if you don't have much luggage and feel energetic, you can walk it: leave the station by track no. 16, cross the tramway tracks and take Via Cerretani and Via Panzani until reaching the Cathedral Square, with the massive white Duomo in the middle: continue along the left-hand side of the church, turn left into Via de' Servi and after one block right into Via Bufalini – the residence is just a few steps down – altogether it will take about 15-20 minutes.
From Florence AIRPORT the best way is to take the new T2 tramway until the last stop 'Unità', take Via Cerretani and then follow the directions as outlined above – the ticket costs 1,50 €uros per person. A taxi, on the other hand, will cost about 25 to 30 €uros, but of course will go right to the building doorstep. From Pisa or Bologna airport, instead, there are immediate coach connections to Florence Santa Maria Novella Station and then again follow the directions as outlined above.
Coming by CAR, on the other hand, one has to note that the residence lies right in the middle of the traffic restricted area (ZTL); therefore, these are the options:
– either park the car in one of the municipality parking lots around the city centre at the daily cost of €uros 15-20 per night and then walk to the Residence;
– drive all the way to the Residence and then park the car in one of the private garages in the city center at the cost of about €uros 25-30; the private garage will take care of notifying your car to the municipality in order to get the entry permit.
Since Florence is not very large and driving around the city centre is not very easy, we strongly recommend leaving the car in the garage and plan on just walking around or using the bus to reach Fiesole and Piazzale Michelangelo. The car, instead, comes in useful to make some tours, such as Chianti, Pisa, Vinci, San Gimignano, Siena, Arezzo.
