Casa Sulo's Terracotta is one of a pair of apartments, each sleeping 4-5 in 2 en-suite bedrooms. Open the insulated connecting door in the kitchen/living area, and larger parties enjoy an extensive 4-bedroom private villa. Book both apartments for a week or more and enjoy a 10% - 15% discount. An idyllic location, set at the end of a small safe rural village. With undisturbed views across the mountains and valleys with fragrant eucalyptus trees. Enjoy the peace, quiet and endless walks. Our fully fitted kitchen includes a fridge/freezer, cooker, microwave and washing machine. For your convenience, you'll find a few items such as tea, coffee, sugar, washing up liquid and cooking oils. In addition to salt and pepper, there are a few seasonings and bay leaves. We adopt an honesty policy, meaning, if an item runs out during your stay, for the benefit of future guests, just replace it with a similar item. Shops are nearby, but we do have available a few items for sale (you'll find details in the apartment). For instance, the Alombada honey with its fresh taste of eucalyptus is the perfect accompaniment for your breakfast. Drizzle it over your fresh fruit and yoghurt. Please help yourself to pick some oranges and lemons you'll find growing in the gardens. Each apartment has its own gas barbecue (gas included). Outdoor dining of an evening is very pleasurable. During the day if it gets too hot, just extend the electric sunshade! When you are not out visiting the many attractions around us, there are lots of things you can do around your apartment. For the energetic, there is swimming and plenty of paths to walk. Please make use of the many indoor and outdoor games provided. For instance, all the family will enjoy the boules piste. Maybe you like to swim, so come and enjoy the 10m x 5m saltwater swimming pool, although it is not heated, the sliding canopy makes it pleasurable for a lot of the year. We have also provided plenty of pool toys. There is satellite television, so tune into the extensive TV, radio and music channels. Free wifi available via our router. Free car parking available on site.

Wir würden sehr freundlich empfangen und die Gastgeber regierten sofort. Die Unterkunft ist sehr ruhig und wunderschön gelegen. Das grosse Pool ist ein grosser Pluspunkt. Uns wurden sogar extra neue grosse Gummitiere für unsere Kinder gebracht. Da wir die ersten Gäste in dieser Saison waren, war es etwas feucht in der Unterkunft. Wir denken aber, dass dies im Sommer kein Problem mehr sein sollte. Wir können die Unterkunft sehr empfehlen!
Tres bon echange avec les hotes ,presents a l'arrivée et au départ,. Le logement est dans un lieu fort agréable et au calme . Super jardin ,bien entretenu. Nous y sommes allés fin octobre, beaucoup de pluie. Il y avait de lhumidite dans le logement, je pense que le logement est plus adapte pour les beaux jours. Pas profiter de la piscine. Cependant, entre deux éclaircies nous avons pu faire une partie de pétanque et profiter du jardin et gouter aux clémentines et kakis . Ce que nous avons appréciés cest que chaque chambre dispose de sa salle deau et toilettes et le bruit des oiseaux au reveil. Logement a 1h de porto et prevoir un panier repas ,car cest isolé et dans les montagnes magasin le plus proche a moins de 15min en voiture ,merci aux hotes

Foram uns dias espectaculares, a casa é fantástica, o sítio é lindo e muito bem cuidado, com uma vista lindíssima também. Os anfitriões foram super simpáticos e sempre disponíveis para nos ajudar. A piscina é fenomenal e mesmo com o tempo menos bom foi possível desfrutar. Mais uma vez parabéns à Karen e ao Nuno pela simpatia. Vamos voltar com toda a certeza...recomendamos a experiência.
A nossa estadia foi simplesmente espetacular. Excelente espaço para quem procura paz e tranquilidade. Fomos muito bem recebidos, anfitriões muito atenciosos, prontos e disponíveis, que nos acolheram maravilhosamente e nos brindaram com alguns miminhos gastronómicos de produção local, muito bons, mesmo. Tivemos ainda a oportunidade de dar um passeio a cavalo, as crianças adoraram! Um espaço "perdido" em perfeita sintonia com a natureza, onde o tempo simplesmente pára que cada instante seja apreciado e saboreado ao milímetro. Recomendo e voltarei certamente!

Albergaria-a-Velha is our closest town (10 minutes drive away) with good cafés and traditional restaurants at affordable prices. It also has banks, ATMs and a variety of shops. Our 2 main supermarkets are here, Pingo Doce and Continente.
There is plenty to do and see throughout the region with many local markets to visit, full of atmosphere and fresh produce.
The city of Aveiro, known as the “Venice of Portugal,” boasts every modern amenity but still retains its old charm. Take a boat trip in the traditional brightly painted moliceiros, relax and watch the world go by or wander through the myriad of narrow cobbled streets bustling with life.
The Costa Nova and Barra boast miles of beautiful unspoilt golden sandy beaches waiting to be discovered – here you can participate in all types of water sports.
The beautiful historic city of Porto on the banks of the River Douro is less than 45 minutes away. Visit the world-famous port wine cellars for a tasting followed by a boat trip along the river.
If you enjoy “driving and finding” take the back roads over the mountains to Viseu, experience the spa towns of Luso and S. Pedro do Sul, or explore the magnificent forest of Buçaco before visiting Coimbra, one of the oldest university cities in Europe.
If you love to hike, be in nature, we recommend to visit "Passadiços do Paiva Trailhead (Areinho)" 8 km of steep wooden walkways along the bank of the Paiva River with scenic views.
There are too many wonderful experiences in the region to detail; fish for bream, trout and barbell on the rivers Vouga, Dão, or Paiva. If you enjoy adventure, take a canoe down the river Mondego from Penacova to Coimbra.
Golfers: there is the challenging 18 hole course at the Montebelo Golf and Leisure Club, as well as a nine-hole course at Curia, both within an easy drive

Hi, we are Karen and Nuno an English and Portuguese couple who are managing the apartments for our neighbours Ken and Sue. They are taking a well-earned break from the day to day running after 18 years of welcoming guests to their property. Living next door we are well placed to meet, greet and look after you. When you come we are sure you will fall in love with Alombada and enjoy it as much as we do.
