My friends and I stayed at the Bark Eater and had a truly incredible time! The Inn and outside area was beautiful and we enjoyed exploring all around! The breakfast was delicious and Meghan and Tyler were very welcoming!

Everything just so well thought-out. Inside: Rooms tastefully furnished, and house beautifully restored. Everything you could need including great hiking and nature books and games, and convenient kitchen. Breakfast was delicious and perfect for hikers. Outside: The valley/mountain view and feeling of solitude is unbeatable and Meghan's garden could be a tourist attraction in its own right.

The Bark Eater Inn is a jewel of the Adirondacks. Sited on 200 private, beautifully maintained acres replete with organic gardens, ponds and streams - it is its own kind of oasis. Thee proprietors, Meghan and Tyler, are so friendly and knowledgeable about thee region - it was a delight to speak with them and learn more about the area. The oatmeal cookies at check-in and gourmet breakfast deserve 10 stars. And finally, the linens! The beds are incredibly comfy and the linens are Matouk (!!) and a dream to sleep in! We will most certainly be back.

You can expect well taken care of rooms, delicious homemade food, beautiful views, and peace and quiet! The trail breakfast was simple yet delicious and the perfect start for a day full of hiking and other adventures. And the oatmeal chocolate chip cookies by the door were out of this world. Whether you want breakfast on the screened in porch, to relax in the garden, or to take a stroll to the pond, the Bark Eater has it all. In close proximity to the high peaks region and downtown lake placid. 12/10 would recommend!
