Sharyn’s place is great for anyone looking for a comfortable place to live while in town for work. I’m a travel nurse and found the apartment very clean, safe, and walkable to many stores and restaurants. Sharyn was very responsive if I ever needed her.

This place is great for one person, but that's literally it. It's a very small place, and the full bed is boxed in, so having two people in it, or even being pretty tall could be a problem. The host, Sharyn, was very kind. She even brought me a goodie-bag for the Fourth of July. However, while she was great, I had some issues with the actual apartment: 1) The AC never fully worked. It would pump a very negligible amount of cold air into the apartment, which was enough for the building management to say it was working, but it also meant I was warm/hot all the time. Sharyn provided fans when I complained, but they never sufficiently reduced the heat. I ended up leaving the blinds closed nearly all the time (which is a shame because there's a great view) to try to keep the apartment at a manageable temperature. 2) This place requires that you be there for a fairly long time -- it's intended to have long-term residents. But it has no storage. The only closet is very small, and there are only so many places to store folded clothes. 3) There's basically no counter-space for cooking, and the fridge is in a corner, so it doesn't fully open. 4) The building has a gym, which is a pretty solid gym. But the building's management set limited hours for the gym the entire time I was there. It opened at 9am on weekdays, so I couldn't work out before work, and it opened at 12 on weekends. Also, it closed at 5:30 on weekends.

I stayed at Sharyn's place for about 6 months while working full-time in Arlington, VA. I worked long hours and needed a comfortable place to come back to at the end of very long days. Sharyn's place exceeded my expectations in every possible way. Everything from the host to the location to the apartment itself was far better than expected. Location: Sharyn's place is walking distance from downtown Arlington, which gave me easy access to supermarkets, convenient stores, restaurants, and coffee shops, all by foot. It's was a five minute walk to the high-rise building where I worked (as well as other business buildings in the area) and I loved the short but beautiful walk to work each day. I could also hop on my bike right outside the front of the building and take the picturesque bike paths into Georgetown, around DC, to Teddy Roosevelt Island, and along the Potomac. I loved staying in Arlington because there was so much nature and fresh air compared to DC where I have lived in the past. At the same time, it was such a quick bike ride or drive into DC that I never felt like I was missing anything. Apartment: Sharyn's apartment was beautifully decorated with a rug, mirrors and pictures on the walls, and new towels for me when I moved in. It instantly felt like home. She was willing to take anything I didn't want out and move it to storage right away. The absolute best thing about the apartment were the huge windows that covered one entire wall. I drank coffee and looked out at the gorgeous views of the Lincoln Memorial and Washington Monument every day. I could also open the windows on both sides and get an amazing breeze into the whole apartment. I loved leaving the windows open and listening to the rain fall down while watching the lights of DC twinkle at night. It made the apartment a wonderful place to come back to. The kitchen has an oven, a refrigerator and a microwave, all in perfect working order. The bed was in a little private nook in the corner that is cozy and semi-private, and the bathroom has a great shower and was the perfect little space for me. The laundry room in the basement is big with many machines and works impeccably as well. Host: The best thing about staying at Sharyn's place was the fantastic host. She always responded to my messages within minutes in the friendliest way, and made sure that I had access to everything I needed. When I couldn't figure out how to use the oven on the first week, she texted me through it. When I asked if we could move a couple of pillows and rugs out of the apartment, she had them moved to storage while I was at work. When I wanted to find a cleaning service to give the apartment a once-over halfway through my stay, she recommended a great person and set it up. When the bathtub drain needed to be snaked, she arranged for building management to take care of it while I was at work. She even recommended several places for me to visit in Virginia, including an Alpaca farm about an hour away, which I visited when I had a day off and loved! Sharyn was always warm and welcoming, always responsive, and always trustworthy. I was busy with crazy hours at work and it was great to have an effective and reliable host. The apartment was one thing that I never had to worry about. I will always remember coming back to Sharyn's place at the end of a crazy and long day and eating dinner while looking out of the window at the beautiful view and feeling the breeze. I would 1000% recommend this place to anyone looking for a long-term stay in Arlington. You could not possibly find a better place.
