The Old Post Office is a character cottage situated in the heart of pretty Cranmore village. With the Strode pub/ gourmet restaurant across the road. The famous East Somerset Steam Railway is also just a short stroll. The station has a cafe which does a great breakfast and also a shop for basic provisions. The house is well situated for visits to Longleat for the light show also Wells,Glastonbury,Cheddar and Wookey Hole plus Sreet for the retail park. The cottage has three bedrooms upstairs. Two double bedrooms and one single bedroom upstairs. The bathroom upstairs has a bath, sink and toilet. Downstairs there is a double bedroom with a convenient adjoining bathroom with a shower, sink and toilet, particularly useful for those who can not manage the stairs. The large lounge benefits from many original features latticed mullioned windows, beams and flag stone floor. Plus stone fireplace with log burner . This is complimented by the comfortable leather seating . The kitchen is spacious with lots of work top space,good for some gastro cooking, plus a large table for great get togethers. From the kitchen there are French latticed doors that open on to the attractive well stocked garden. There is a pretty secret secluded seating area to the side of the house with grape vine and hanging baskets. Which is a Sun trap in the morning for croissants and your morning coffee.

definitely a cosy cottage beautiful cosy cottage in a beautiful area can't fault at all. perfect for relaxing. The nearby pub/ restaurant was also amazing the food was excellent 👌
Charming cottage in a beautiful village. The house is cosy and spacious, very clean and the kitchen has everything you need. Lovely pub just down the road. Great location for visiting Cheddar Gorge and surrounding areas. The hosts were great, Warren welcomed us at the cottage and showed us around. We would definitely like to come back and stay here again and explore the area more.

This is a quaint cottage in an old post office, located in a peaceful village 10 minutes from all the amenities of Shepton Mallet. Warren and Alison, were extremely friendly, helpful and responded immediately to any questions. There is a quite village pub which serves food a short walk away and beautiful countryside all around. This is a great base for exploring Cheddar Gorge, Bath, Bristol and surrounding areas. There is quite a steep staircase up to 3 of the bedrooms, but there is one double room downstairs in the Old Post Office itself (with the old post box in the wall!), if this is a problem for anyone in your party. We had a really great stay here and would definitely recommend it. Thanks to Warren and Alison for making our stay enjoyable and memorable.

The pretty village also has a large park and play area with swings slides and and various play equipment.
The trendy/arty town of Frome is near by with cobbled streets and quirky shops and Shepton Mallet with its many antique shops. The Bath and West show ground with its many events and the Glastonbury festival site are close by approx. 4 miles.
Cheddar Gorge,Wookey Hole Caves. The beautiful Cathedral city of Wells and the city of Bath are with in easy driving distance for a lovely day trip. Plus Longleat with beautiful grounds house and safari park.
Clarks retail village site in Street is also a must visit for some shopping therapy.
Babbington HouseHotel Spa and Charlton House Spa are close by.
Further a field, but still only 45 minute away is the vibrant City of Bristol with its famous harbour side with its many attractions.
There are lovely walks around the village of Cranmore.
There is a bus service From Cranmore to Frome and Shepton Mallet linking to further a field . Main line rail links at Frome Castle Cary and Bath. Bristol international airport is approx. 45 minutes away.
